Its not like this is an isolated incident, There are many people who have had the exact same problem with that hotel for a good while, I remember Keld I think it was had to personally go into them and book or confirm Dawseys booking before as they never replied back, Which is not a great way to run a buisness... Maybe if more people done this they would maybe at least reply to emails in future... Its a shame really as from what I have heard about KN its not a bad place to stay...

I think it's a great place to stay and take on board what people say. I have spoken to Nid several times and she insists that emails are sent out even though I too have not recieved some that she says she has sent. Having not stayed there yet Ally, you have a different perspective - this doesn't mean it's wrong, but once you (meant generally) have stayed there, you will get a much better idea of why this is an issue. Hard to explain clearly and I hope Dawsey will understand what I mean once he's been there and experienced the hospitality and ambience of the place.

One thing I will say, is that I have emailed Nid a couple of times before asking for a reservation and not had a reply. I just turned up knowing that if there was no room available, I could wander down to C&N, Expat, Summer Breeze etc and get a room elsewhere because it wasn't high season. Both times the room was booked for me at KN and I was told a mail had been sent, even though I didn't get one. I just take it as read now that if I don't get a mail back, then I'm booked in. I suppose that this is OK for me, as I have been there several times and also being single, I can find another room fairly easily.

All I can do is tell Nid again about what is happening, but we all have our own experiences of how Thais go about dealing with things in a very different way to what we've come to expect

Hey Diz, forgot to add I have also called Nid in February, spoken to her and again she asked I mail nearer the time even though she accepted my booking. She has my number as well.

As I've said, I'm quite sure we would have enjoyed our stay there, but as there are 4 of us it may be a tad difficult to find a room on the day if KN had fluffed our booking. I was prepared to try on the day, but the others wanted a bit of security with it being Songkran and Bike Week, boring gits!!. Room was booked in Stuart Wilson if you want to mention it to her,

I totally understand where your coming from Diz...

I am not doubting how good the hotel is, I have never heard anyone complain about there stay at KN, And I am sure the staff are lovely people and can totally understand why if it was you who was in that position and decided to book another hotel, That you would send another email or ring them because of the fact that you have already established a good relationship with the hotel staff...

But for the numerous other people who have had this same problem with emails, Then I can see why they would not bother to reply as they would probably think "Well if the hotel has not got the decency to reply then why should I"... And I can understand that aswell which is a shame for the hotel because it is losing an awful lot of custom which a hotel in that area needs to survive....

Yes, it is a shame. As previously mentioned, I have spoken to Nid about it and can't see much else I can do to help them.

For HOOF : I'll make sure she's aware that you're not coming. However, it might cost you a couple of beers at MTB to stop me from telling her you're booked into the Poppa, which is about 50 yards round the corner !! A woman scorned is one thing, a Thai woman scorned is a hell of a lot more trouble !! 55555

OK, I've mailed KN and told them. I explained my reasons as simply and tactfully as I could, just hope she doesn't send a posse to Poppa. Mind you, I forgot to tell her thats where we are !!

quick report for anyone who's going to poppa's, nice size room and big bed,pool is good but a bit cloudy sometimes (although it cleared up after the wakefield boys left)! they didn't charge for guest, good security checking the girls id. over all a good hotel but no food service after breakfast finishes at 10.00am. 5 min walk to top end of bangla and 5 min walk to beach. would recomend.

Glad we wasnt there if there was a crew in from Yorkshire, they tend to mess up everything they touch and swim in apparently.

Just makes me glad we're from the 'right' side of the pennines, us being from Warrington !!!

Thanks, but i have that email address and have sent mail to them twice but it returns back with undeliverable notice saying that there mailbox size has exceeded limit. So that is y i was wondering if anyone might have some other email address.

onsunny...I have sent many emails over the last 2 months. Not one answered!!!!!! Maybe my emails are what exceeded their mailbox! I did email a reservation company to try and get the answers I wanted but to no avail.

I am booking Poppa Palace instead

Poppa palace answer emails the next day (time difference!!) If a hotel does not answer emails, personally I look elsewhere!!
