jetstar leg room?

Gday Guys.

Has anyone flown on jetstar mel/bkk? I was wondering about the leg room.
The advantage of flying jetstar from melbourne is that the flight is direct, and its the cheapest, as well, your able to buy a oneway ticket, which is at half the return price (as I dont know if or when Ill return to OZ).....but I dont want sit for 9 hours with my legs up around my ears.

Thanks for any help..Barflyrex

Hey there,

Jetstar is like any of the other discount airlines.. but the longhaul is very similar to what you would expect with someone like Qantas. The only difference is you are only paying for your seat. You must pay extra for meals, videos and blanket ect. I have flown Jetstar several times as my gf works for them and i quite enjoy the leather seats... even in economy.
Hope this helps....
James

BFR, yes the flight from MEL is direct to BKK, but the flight from SYD is direct to HKT! I've only flown 'Starclass', but it was great. I slept for 5 hours (which I can never do in economy). Unfortunately Lisa Robertson wasn't working those flights, otherwise it could have been better. But I don't look like Ralph Fiennes either.

Why did they sack Lisa.
Would we not all be on the next flight knowing she was our hostie.
Every one of us would like to join the mile high club and they should continue her employment just to accomadate the boy's goiing to LOS

hey - I have flown JetStar to Bali - 6.5 Hr Flght

I'm 6'2" and 100KG - Large fellow. And there was not enough room for my legs, painful lesson to learn, I much more prefer Singapore airlines.

Flew Jetstar SYD-HKT in Feb07, cattle class, seemed to have more leg room than on the Singapore 747 cattle class, SYD-SIN. Having said that, I prefer Singapore Air than any other.

Cool

Seat Guru is good, but does not have a big database, whereas Skytrax covers a lot more airlines.

Jetstar and Qantas

You may or may not know this but if you are doing a couple of trips a year to Los it might be worthwile going one way with jetstar or Tiger (Mel and Per) and then buying a Singapore- Mel_Per- Return. You can pick up a Sin-Per_Sin for $298 Sin$ or about $260 Aus including Taxes!!!!!!!! Using this method if you bought the following :

Per - Sin about $300 AUD with tiger
Sin - Per-Sin about $260 with Qantas
Sin -Per- Sin About $260 with Qantas and don't use the return leg you could have two return trips Per Sin with a lcc connection in Sin to Los. Total Cost $820.00 AUD. + Sin - HKT/Bkk

Go to the QF singapore website and you will find these ridiculously cheap fares. But why not available to Aussies in Australia?

I'm flying at Easter with Tiger Per-HKT $900 AUD

zuji.com.au is a good site to view. Same if not a tad cheaper than jetstar for direct flights to Bangkok thai airways/singapore etc and alot more dates to pick from unlike Jetstar.

Thanks guys for the helpful info, its amazing how much you find you dont know sometimes. I do like the idea of going direct, so that leaves thai or jetstar. Though Darwin would be a good place to check out,..... but I just have to get to soi 6 (you know what I mean). My mate who lives up in chumpea (near khon kean) rang last night and has to return to OZ in a hurry for an operation, he’s flying jetstar so Ill see what he says.

Thanks again Barflyrex
