Is there a cheap way for me to get to the airport from Patong beach without taking the 300-600 baht cab ride?

I think that is the average and cheapest price. Some hotel may give you an option.

Otherwise just try walking or hitch-hiking?

My hotel has organised to pick me up from the Airport for 500 baht...

It's not that much anyway, if you are trying to grab a lift from the airport for less than that then what sort of money are you planning to spend per day???

I got a free pick up from airport to hotel - now referring to my departure.

i know there's a bus service from patong beach to phuket town and I can switch to another bus that goes to the airport... how do I go about hopping onto that bus? (i'm not talking about songthews)

You can go buy mini buss. you hv to book thrugh the hotel or travel agent. I think it cost around 150 baht

Stand in front of the Bus in Patong, I've found its the easiest way to get on to it, but really, are you going to save that much?
