Patong Bay Garden Resort

I'll be arriving into Patong on May 20th for 3 nights before we head onto Phi Phi for some diving.

We're VERY interested in booking the Patong Bay Garden Resort Andaman Studio and I wanted to get some feedback about the hotel/studio. Most of the reviews I have read indicate this place is great - anyone else have other suggestions, comments?

Any info is much appreciated...

...Last time I was in Phuket I ended up staying at the Best Western Karon Beach and I'm looking to upgrade a bit and be more close to the action - Patong Beach is def a must but we're willing to get a bit off the path if the place/price is right.

If you want a nice place close to the action I think you will be very happy at the Patong Bay Garden Resort.

yep I really like it.....good nice sized rooms but make sure you ask for one facing the pool/beach....definitely NOT one facing beach rd or it will be very noisy.........

I haven't been back since someone mentioned in here that they now charge BF's........if this effects you maybe write and ask them outright before booking......I did this but got an ambiguous response so didn't pursue them again.......

Thumbs up

Stayed there in Feb07.
Agree with the BM comments.

close to the action
on the beach
clean pool
friendly staff
no visitor charge, although booked for a double.

I would stay there again.

Thanks All!!

I appreciate the feedback. When I tried reserving a room I was informed all the Andaman Studio's were booked - so I went with Baan Laimai.

Looked good. After reading the many posts about it we had to get the hotel to agree to NOT charge us a joiner fee [apparently they have a "new policy" of charging this season...anyone aware of this "new policy?"] Just a heads up if you're trying to book...

I'll be stopping by MTB this go around, look forward to meeting some BM's.

2 weeks till liftoff.

Baan Lamai has had a JF policy since it reopenned after the Tsunami I believe....so fairplay to you if you got away with it.....just goes to show you should always ask the hotel outright if you have any doubts.........and if they say they have JF policy tell them you won't stay unless it is waived...
