I`m considering hiring one on my next trip.
1. How much one week/one month high/low season?
2. Where from?

I dunno about phuket but on koh samet they are 1500b for 24 hours...
If you were renting for a few days/weeks im sure you could bargain them down...

You realize they cant be ridden on the road ??

I actually find quads and trikes dangerous.. and thats from someone who had ridden MTX and happily rides sportbikes.. They roll..

Got myself a Dirtbike yesterday. Took it up the hills behind hasip-pee rd. Very muddy up there now, great fun

bought or rented ??

Would like to rent a proper 2 stroke MTX up to about 250.. 400 probably a bit much as I havent ridden like that for a while.. Would want boots etc too..

Theres tonnes of trails up the hills and through to the chalong side..

the trails at the firing range in chalong are not too bad

Rented at the moment. Im considering buying it, but i want to try it first for a few days. This one is a Honda XR 250.

Would love to have a go on those 2-stroke bikes again. Rode some 125s a long time ago, they are insane.

many thanks. I was looking at this as a potentially safer alternative to a scooter for getting around. guess it`s neither safer nor legal?

If you're up for it there's Motorcross racing nearly every weekend. Go through Kathu to the Tesco junction and left onto the long connecting road to the main "highway". It's in the big pit on the right about 2/3rds of the way down the road. I'm sure farangs would be welcomed.

Been and had a look.. no rental bikes tho its all run your own..

There was a rental place in Kathu for a while.. They couldnt make it pay..
