Only one review I can find, and it seemed to be OK. It is a GF hotel too
Tropica Bungalow, Patong
friends of mine have stayed at the Tropica Bungalow and were very happy with the accomodation and service. Ideal location for the beach and the nightlife

Tropica Bungalow Hotel Phuket Phuket Reviews : Thailand Hotels
try the link above.....loads of comments there !!
I've booked Tropica through them 850 baht per night (incl. breakfast)....good price for the location.
5 more days of work , and I should be there in time for the big match NOT the FA cup final but the final league match in the MTB xpert eleven league !!
I'll give you a better idea of what Tropica is like when i return .
Cheers ,

I stayed here 2 times. First time was in July 2006. we payed 700bath/pr. night and stayed in the building. (not the bungalow) And we where very satisfied. We got back earlie in nov. and went back to tropica but then we got a bungalow that did not have the same standard as the rooms. and they charged us 1700bath pr. night. i know this was high season but it was not worth it. if u get a Bungalow for a good price and u just want a bed and a clean room (like me). i think its a great choice, great location and the sweetest reseptionists

Tropica Bungalow
I stayed there a long time ago, long before the Tsunami. I think back then it was cheaper. I was going to stay there again last December and January, but the rates were pretty high. Still, if you can get it for 850 baht a night, that'd be a good deal. It's hard to beat the location.

Stayed there a couple of times pre-tsunami. Some difference depending on location within the complex. The ones closer to Bangla may be too close--you get a lot of noise. Further away, not a problem.

I did read on a review somewhere that if you want a quiet hotel rooom to ask for 115-120 or 215 - 220 And the quiet bungalows are apparenty 24-34
I have booked Tropica for my stay and asked for a room either 215-220 which is on request!

Looks like a nice convenient place to stay. I might well give this a go in August.
Thanks for the advice.
