Yes that is strange
Looks like it pays to book the BKK - HKT section on Thai Air own website

EVA is even cheaper......... i paid £438,given that is through an agent and not direct with EVA,but TBH makes no difference.
but i suppose its personal preference.......but i cant see past EVA,the new planes are great, comfier, better entertainment system, also i found the service A1............still ,great prices for both thai and eva.
i see sri lankian are under the 400 mark to those who dont mind in direct flights, dunno about airline though,im sure someone mention the service werent bad.

By two different tickets. You will still be able to check luggage through.

Good suggestion DK

That's a good suggestion DK apart from already having a ticket for June/July sitting in my travel docs.........looks like I lost out slightly by buying it early, 520 London to Phuket with Thai Air.

Though I don't think I would have been comfortable waiting until 10 to 15 days before departure to get my ticket......I suppose you pay for a degree of certainty

Just used the search engine on airline network for Thai air heathrow to bangkok using different random dates between end of may and any time in june.

The cheapest came back as £554 and not £449

hey chris......i think the price is direct with thai .

im sure u can find around that price(£449) through an agent if not....

Cheap loans | mortgages | credit cards | home & car insurance - moneysupermarket UK .............is a good search engine includes airline network also.

If that's all-in then it's a great price.

Seem to be a lot of good deals for June - both Thai & Eva are around the £44x mark for econony and Thai even have some biz flights for £1376, which while expensive (in the normal world!) is a really good deal.

u wont be dissapointed............

i found them pretty comfy, service was great, food is as good as as any plane food for economy and the entertainment system tops it off nicely....u can watch what u want ,when u want.
u got a great deal BTW,i was hunting for a while and got £438 inc taxes for june.who did ya book with???
not sure if u can book a seat online, possible u ca get those privalleges when u up in the rankings on thererequent flyer program.i know u can request a seat, but if u get it is a different matter.........i'll look into it.
plus eva have a great flyer program, good website, worth singing up.....after my next flight i will be upgraded to silver card(i would have logged 6 flights on my card by then),that will entitle me to use there airport lounge, nice little bonus.then a few more and upgrades will be thrown my way.
no hassle in signing up is there!

you would probably be better signing up to the BMI frequent flyer programme and adding your thai miles to that.

tas1 booked with EVA Air which unfortunately is not in the Star Alliance, but as you correctly state, Thai Airways is and I would also advise people to join the BMI's "Diamond Club" rather than Thai's "Royal Orchid Plus" programme.

ALWAYS sign up for any frequent flyer deals, for years I always said so what. Last June I was flying with Emirates for the 1st time and my boss made me sign up. After 2 trips to LOS I got silver Skywards usual free lounge and things like that but I also had enough miles to upgrade the flight from Dubai to BKK this Saturday coming to business class FREE
