goin to bejing for a couple of days with a mate in between my thailand trip to see the great wall and the forbidden city. I have never been there before so i thought id ask if any bm's have been and could recommend some good and not too pricey accomodation!! all feedback is welcome.. thanx

Good luck in Beijing mate. I lived in China for just over a month at the beginning of the year.
I stayed at the "Beijing New Dragon Hostel" while I was at the capital. It's at 26 ShiJia Hutong, Dongcheng district. It was cheap, had clean tidy rooms and even internet access in the foyer.

thanks pal, sorry one more quick question for ya.. i think im right with the touristy part of china. hows the nightlife there? is there a nightlife? i dont know what to expect,will it be anything like thailand nights?girls?

China is NOTHING like Thailand.
I only went there to be beaten with sticks and starved in the mountains (in the name of martial arts lol), so I didn't have much of an oppotunity to do the tourist part. I stayed at Shanghai for 5 days and Beijing for 4, then off the the rural part of the Shangdong province for the rest.

If you're after nightlife and beautiful, easy women, you're much better off in Thailand though mate.

Still it's a worthwhile place to visit

well it was worth asking!!! i guess im gona have to try hold off for a few days till i get back to thailand without goin nuts hey...
