Banthai Hotel, Patong, Is it GF?

Hi Chaps,

Anybody know if Banthai is girl friendly?

If not, which hotels in Patong, of a similar standard and rate are GF?

Thx

This thread has a list of GF and non-GF hotels in Phuket.

http://www.phuket-info.com/forums/ac...esthouses.html

Marc26 has written a review of the hotel - doesn't mention whether it is GF. He should be able to help.

Looking at the hotel's website, it looks top-priced stuff. Maybe the Safari Beach Resort might be a suitable GF hotel equivalent.

Hi - Marc26 wasn't too complimentary but he seems to be the only one who had problems.

Having said that, some bm's say its GF, other's not so kinda confused. Anybody have a definative answer.

Been having a look at Safari as well - looks good but Banthai seems a cut above. Would prefer banthai but only if its GF, otherwise I'll probaby settled for Safari.

Thx.

There is always the tried and tested approach of emailing the hotel and asking them.

But given the hotel's price, and the fact that it is Phuket, my gut feel is that they would the type of place to charge a decent-sized joiner fee.

Gf

It is always GF for me beacuse I stay with them 4 times a year for about 10 years.

Otherwise if you are new I think that they will charge you but there are ways round that.

How are you booking? If you book direct then you can email them and expalian that you come many times etc and can they ask the managment for a special for you etc,

You should be OK

Great Hotel and best location on the island in my opinion.

Regards

Drew

I'm booking through Asia Rooms. Have emailed them today re their policy. If there is a joiner fee I'll decline - they lose 10 days of my custom - their choice.

Just got back this reply :

Dear

Thank you for your booking enquiry. In order to make a booking we would like
to advise you to channel your request through our homepage
www.banthaiphukt.com and you will receive an instant confirmation of your reservation.

The joinner charge is Baht 1000.-net/person/night.

Looking forward to welcome you at the Banthai Beach Resort & Spa, we remain with kind regards.

Have replied back with :

Thank you for your reply.

I note that you have a joiner fee. I do not like paying joiner fees when I have booked a double room and so I will not be booking my stay with you.

I will be coming to Phuket every year and staying a minimum of 10 days each time. Regretably because of your joiner policy you will not be getting my booking.

If you change your joiner policy then please advise

Kind Regards

this was my take
i dont really judge a place on if it is gf but more is it friendly to my gf that i checked in with
i do understand a hotel that has a gf policy would be more apt to treat your gf in a better way
i just didnt get a good vibe from the hotel
and i just dont think the pool access rooms were that great for the money
i also had a few bm's over and the room service was laughable
