options on how to get to patong from bangkok
Hi all
returning to the ever lovely MTB
Will arrive at bangkok airport 10pm 6th July.
What are my options to get to patong from there?
I have looked at Airasia , but one little problem I can not use my credit card. (too much on it).
Are there night coaches to Patong?
Wondering?
C you soon

Hi Houtong,
Yes, there are busses from BKK to Phuket, but I think they stop in Phuket Town, so youu'd have to get from there to Patong as well.
Here is the bus timetable
Bangkok, Thailand transport information including timetables and costs where available.

bus or train then bus(being if u get train only goes so far, surathani IIRC,then u have to get on bus rest of journey)is a long old journey.
why dont u go to ticket office at airport when u arrive bkk, book flight with cash.more than likely at that time of year youll get on next flight down, whether it be air asia,or one of the other operators.

arriving 10pm so go into town and enjoy the night, after that the next day (or the one after that take the flight to phuket. If you are there shorter then 3 weeks you just loose to much time with the slower connections bus and train
night busses go around 7pm and take 10-12 hours. so when you would be able to catch a bus at midnight you would arrive round noon. So why not fly the next morning and do the same

Just checked Air Asia website for 7th July BKK to HKT, 4,30pm flight departing BKK, one way including tax...etc is 1,068.93 THB
6 flights a day from BKK to HKT, different time diffrent fares.
Like others said, get a room, have fun in BKK, then buy a ticket the next day.
Cheers and have fun.

.... hope you have some other way to fund your stay and choice of entertainment.
Otherwise, I do agree with others who suggested an overnight in Bangkok, then fly to Phuket the next day.

I had a very good experience with www.nokair.com
Easy to book (I had also problems with my credit card with airasia),e-tickets,cheap,friendly.The crew is good-lloking and very young.About 1600 baht for the flight. You even can book your seats!! OK,no meal,no drinks but you can buy for small money (only 30 baht)
The airplanes go from the old Bangkok airport (Don Muang).Transfer with bus from the new airport (1 hour) is only 35 baht.If you take taxi it cost you 450 baht...limousine up to 1200 baht.
From the new airport, you have a free shuttle to the busstation.(only a few minutes far)
At Phuket airport, you can take a mini-bus (1 hour-150 baht) or a taxi (450-500 baht) to Patong. The bus brings you in front of the hotel.
I hope this information give you some help.
