I have been at least 7 times at Seaview Hotel Patong before.I send an e-mail to Mr.Sacharin (manager of the hotel ) before booking and asked him,as before the possibility to get a free joining card.He always offered me one before.He did not answer this question.When I came there at the hotel,the reception told me the price for that was 2000 BAHT.
I was very disappointed about that and made some complaints.Nothing to do.....I had to pay.

So I had to book another hotel (Swisshotel or C&N hotel)at 600 baht to spend the night if I wanted to invite some-one to the room.
If I said;for next time I would book another hotel,the answer was "No problem;we want 2000 baht in the pocket of our hotel".

So dear singles;I advice you not to book for Seaview Hotel Patong if you like to keep your money in your own pocket.
Why you should choose Seaview.
This time I choose the wrong hotel!!!

for 18 days!!!I had the feeling of being in jail.
Still I have to say that internet is at huge prices.They charge you 300 baht for using internet.With login and password you can go on internet only for 1 day (24 hours)
The hotel gave bad information about airporttaxes.700 baht is not for tickets issued after 1 february 2007!!! So I had to spend 700 baht at the airport.They should have known.
Thanks and Hello to the employees of Seaview.They are very friendly.Only the management is a problem over there.

It seems that Seaview Patong wants to take profit from silly (??) and rich (??) FARANG.
No problem;if they don't care good costumer,I don't care them.

Even if the accomodation is full for only 40 percent;like it is now.
To Mss. Sofana (owner of both Seaview Patong and Andaman):"It's better to replace your manager by the assist-manager;because he can't resolve any problem.To be honest,he distroyed my hollydays.If he answered my e-mail in a honest way,this should never happen."
For me;Seaview is the PAST.

Nobody is searching trouble during his Hollydays.
Seaview is,in my opinion, missing the spirit to please good costumers.

... Judging by your new board name it looks like you have an ax to grind with the hotel. Not saying whether that is right or wrong, but certainly a firm stand. ... Besides when (of if) you meet fellow BM's do you want us to address you by Mr. Ex-"Hotel Name".

So you booked a non guest friendly hotel.. Asked for a joiner free card and did not get a yes answer.. Then are shocked by a joiner fee ??

While it is definitely your right to make a critical post, and in many instances it is helpful and can be a warning to other BM's, there are two sides to every story. As a person that is sensitive to this issue, I would hate to be condemned on the internet over a misunderstanding. i'm not saying you are not 100% right, as you seem quite vehement on the subject. I'm just looking on the other side of the issue.

this is why i love this forum. before i booked my hotel in patong i read up on here the many reviews and found the perfect place..."summer breeze" and they got free internet!! 5555555!

I don't speak about misunderstanding.I spoke before about the subject in an e-mail.All I got,was some misleading information about the price of the room.So, I can only say that I have been cheated.
I also want to know the other side of the issue.Seaview is free to answer and I hope they do.No talk was possible at the hotel and if you come 7 times ,I think you can expect more.
I am glad there is a forum,where we can give true and honest information.They told me in the hotel,that if I put a posting on this site;I could go immediately,so I feel free to do it now.I even warned them I should make some posting.
Every night the reception has problems there with farang and joining-fee.
I hope on some reaction,even from the hotel.I have nothing to hide.At least,I asked only a free join for a few days (3),even that was refused!!!!
I only wanted to protect singles for huge costs.

This story is the truth,so nothing wrong with publishing.

LiL, I am trying to remember who that guy is ... what comes to mind is obviously a criminal, but I think it was a trailer park child rapist in the California valley (Bakersfield / Modesto / Sacramento).

A hotel charging a joiner fee of that sort of amount is clearly saying they dont want mongers there. I presume its one of the beach Rd places (seaview) and I guess they are looking to have a cleaner image.

was it 2000 baht for the joiner free card?

ie: one payment of 2000 baht for multiple joiners during your stay?

sounds quite reasonable if it is not GF.

Do you speak about the room rate or the joyner fee (bt 2,000)

In C&N there is no joyner fee so the amount of Baht 600 there is the room rate.

No,no....it's 2000 baht/night.
I paid for my hotel (1 person-half pension-18 days) 920 euro.It's about 42000 baht.
The fee for joining is higher than I paid for 1 day half pension.
Still reasonable????

They can better say:"Visitors not allowed"
I axpect some reaction from the hotel.......KEEP ON SMILING.

To make it clear.....Because I didn't want to pay the joiners fee at Seaview (2000 baht/night);I moved to Swiss Hotel or C&N Hotel 600 baht/night/2 persons-no joiners fee.It was much cheaper than the 2000 baht/night I had to pay extra at Seaview.

Seems to me Seaview is a very family friendly hotel, they obviously are making it a non monger friendly place.

But you knew about the joiner fee in advance ?? And asked them to confirm to waive it and they would not confirm this ?? Is that correct ??

Totally correct.I knew about the fee (before 700 baht).As a good customer it was allways free.Now they didn't answer my question in my e-mail about the fee (even when I said that it was free for me before) and spoke only about the price of the room.Misleading and cheating.

Surely if you book a single, you can't expect to get double. GF places generally charge for Doubles, from my limited experience. Why didn't you just move to C&N, and get refund from Seaview?

Before the manager never made problems for a free joining card for good costumers.Now he changed his policy,without informing me.
The bill was totally paid to the touroperator.Seaview would NEVER refund the money.
They even said it was a good solution to spend the night elsewhere.
Never mind,they lost a good costumer.Before I booked this hotel,my eyes closed.

It does seem a bit strange to me that after having stayed there 7 times before he obviously thought it was magnificent and decided to go back again, except this time seems to be the first time he's had this problem

I know TIT usually sums it up, but from what he's saying, it's gone from no joiner fee to 2,000baht for a night !! Perhaps we are not being told the whole story
