JW MArriott / Hilton in Phuket .. any other place ....

Hi all
My better half and I will be travelling to Phuket and Bkk 3 days / 2 nights in phuket. i am looking at staying at the JW Marriott or the Hilton in phuket. All we wanna do is relax chill out on the beach some water sports etc ... which one is better ? hilton with the ocean view is a lil cheaper than the Marriott.... what else would you all suggest for phuket ? oh we will be getting tattoos aswell either in phuket or bkk ... some thing not to big ....

After phuket we head out to BKK reach 15th afternoon and depart on the 18th evening, there i am looking at the Marriott or the holiday inn near the sukhmovit road ... which is better ? the rates are almost comparable ... anything else in this range .. .BKK will be all shopping and having a good time(nope not what this place mostly covers) stuff like the aquarium (SP) a temple, dining at the roof top open air place .. i forget the name ... ... maybe the night and the weekend market as well... oh yeah tonnes of shopping//// any suggestions / feedback

oh this is in NOV

If you want a chill place with some water sports I suggest Le Meriedien hotel it's between Karon and Patong and has it's own private beach with lot's of stuff on the beach at the guests request.

It's on the beach where the Hilton is on the other side of the beach. The Marriott is good but you way out in nowhere. The Le Meriedien is close to nightlife and everything.

Very much recomended

Cheers!

When I was in patong in September my American friend knows a girl who works at the Hilton as a singer she is very good. The hotel and Karon beech both look great. Just haven't stayed there

J.W. Marriott in Phuket is fairly remote from any nightlife (45mins-1 hour to Patong) BUT it is a proper 5* resort and a great place to escape to for a few days.

EDIT: The sea around the J.W. is pretty rough though.

Don't worry about the website call them and talk to reservations and bargain a bit. It really depends on the time of year when you come to Phuket as right now you can get some great deals.
Or look at some agents who can arrange a package as some agents get a quota of rooms at a very good discount and you can book the whole thing through them.
I really recomend Le Med over the Hilton. much better beach and water sports.
