Accomodation In Karon ? Recomendations Please

I have some friends coming with me to Phuket i february they have their kids with them so they don't want to stay in Patong with me. They want to stay in Karon

location between Karon and Kata with swimming pool
price range 2000 - 5000 bath
if possible wireless connection

We have looked at Karon Beach Resort and Karona Resort and Spa, anyone with a better recomendation?

I'm not sure if you mean Horizon Karon Beach Resort and Spa, which is just up the hill from the soccer stadium. But I stayed there 2 weeks ago, and I think it would be perfect if your friends have kids.

It is very kid friendly with childrens activities and playground.

It is quite well priced, we were paying around 2000 baht a night, but that will probably be a bit more in February.

The hill is a pain to get up and down, but the hotel runs a free tuk-tuk up and down the hill.

And the mini golf in Kata is only 2 minutes away which the kids will probably like.

Plenty of non-adult massage parlours just there too.

I have stayed at the Karon Princess Hotel and Karon Sea Sands Resort & Spa, both right across from the beach, and both with nice pools and very friendly. Price I think was around 1500 baht.

Thank you for the recomendation, but they want a hotel at the south side of the beach or on the north side of Kata so it is short walk to both beaches

Either place you are only a short tuk tuk ride the other beach. I am not sure of anything further down south that I could recomend.

You can check the Waterfront Suites near the Karon Circle. They rent apartments with 1 or 2 bedrooms on the 7th floor. About 2000 Baht per night, very big apartments with bedrooms and living room. Private pool downstairs, tennis etc. Shops and restaurants nearby. You have just to cross the street and you are on the beach.

On the small elevation between Karon and Kata there is the diamond resort. Very nice pool area in the middle of the resort, about 1500 baht per room in february incl bf. Stayed there already several times. You cross the street and you are at the dino park. Have Wifi (WLAN) in the reception area and adjacent rooms, but not free, you will have to buy a card with the access code. Cheaper possibility is the internet shop just down the road, where you can plug in your notebook.

If you want to spend more you can check the Aspasia. Great rooms/apartments with free Internet (RJ45) in room and Wifi at the pool. Located on the hill on top of Kata Beach, you have two wonderful pools on top and a staircase down to the beach. About 4000 per room in February. Both look nice, but where do you get the price from?
Cheapest room on Aspasias web page is 257 euro = 11500 bath

I check the prices on Last minute Hotel Bookings in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore & Bali. These prices are valid for two weeks in advance. On the other hand, you can contact the hotel directly and ask for a good price. Normally it is no problem, to get a room via latestays. Only high season (christmas, chinese new year) is different.
