Meter Taxi's are my preferred method of transport to Patong.
As you exit the terminal, head right...............You'll see the booth with signage.
420b...June 07 price.

Same same for me. Alternative is the airport taxis right outside. 550baht one way. Get a ticket just before leaving the arrivals door on the right hand side.
Tell the driver, no stops for travel agents either, you already have a hotel!

Bus 50 baht, only Thais use it though!!
Boys are offering best advice, come outside turn right and the taxi office is at the end, yellow, 450 to 550 baht depends if you make it to the office or just get grabbed by one of the touts at the door!!!

You know tho, this doesn't matter. When i got to Phuket a few weeks ago, we grabbed one of the airport taxis, and i said to the guy straight to the hotel, no stopping for anything. Howeveer he stopped at a travel agent. This women came out to me and said
"Hello, do you......."
Before I interupted and said
"I have a hotel. I am not here for sightseeing, but to see friends of mine. I am also running quite late so can you tell the guy that we have to go."
Well she left me to it, said goodbye. Probably thought I was an ignorant git and we got on with it.
Telling them to be honest doesn't make a blind bit of difference. Take a metered taxi.

maybe a bit outdated...
how do you organize your transfer back to the airport (from Patong)??
are these taxi transfers offered everywhere seriouse with a pickup-time?
don't really want to search a taxi for the airport transfer in the morning...

Not too bad & it was only last week.
Hotel arranged a taxi back to airport .... same price again.

ask for a card from the METER taxi driver who brings you to your hotel from the airport....he would only be pleased to take you back at the same price when you are leaving
Just remember there are no taxis in Patong to hail so you either have to do as above or get your hotel to arrange it

The couple of times I've been to Patong I always have the driver from Summer Breeze pick me (us) up. 550 Baht one way and works perfect.
Next time I would use this service again.

My mate and I turned right when we got out of the terminal and headed for the taxi stand. Too many people waiting so we walked over to the airport car park and had a couple of taxis approach us.
We agreed on 400 baht to Patong and gave him 100 baht tip on arrival.

It is put onto your hotel bill , but I'm sure the driver would appreciate a tip if you're happy with his driving etc.
