20k/750 = 26.6 segments. With the millage discount for on-line redemption it is 18k/75 = 24 segments.
All in all 6 of one and 1/2 dozen of the other.
My calculations does not include premier status bonuses as I am not sure if they are offered.

If you read the previous posts, Captain and Robaht state that you only get 525 miles for a Biz Class flight with Thai Airways, so I did work it out fairly, based on their input.
55555 !!
I know you weren't advocating them, I was just continuing the discussion regarding how many miles were needed for free flights.

I was going by the award chard on their web site ... but adamantly read it wrong. Business is 125%, not 150%. So the right number millage credit is 625 miles. 18k/625= 28.8 segments.

There seems to be some differences of opinion here
However, it is still a better deal using BMI to collect mileage for free flights BKK/HKT

Yes, I can confirm this is true!!!!
416 actual miles times 125%
This is not rocket science, gentlemen.

No, it is not. But surely this is what a forum is all about no ? People finding out new information and in this case, which frequent flyer club appears to be a better option if you fly (or intend to fly) regularly between BKK and HKT.

Wrong. Bizz class is actual miles times 125 %. But for every flight there is a lower limit of 500 miles. So you get 416 times 125%, not 500 times 125%.
For let's say Mae Hong Son - Chiang Mai, you will get for economy and for bizz 500 miles.

Sorry diz, I didn't mean to be sarcastic about the debate (which is an interesting topic and why I am watching/contributing to this thread), I just think that we have already established the number of miles earned on the HKT-BKK leg for Thai airways...
Cheers, Robaht
