Thai Airways Gold Member promotion

Just a heads up for any BMs that have managed Gold status on Thai airways.

For one month before, then the month of your birthday, and then one month after, you can get 50% reduction on using miles. So, booking a business class return from Europe is only 52,500 miles. Plus they send you a packet of other deals you can take advantage of during that 3 month window, such as discounted hotels, car rentals, etc.

Just in case you have a Gold card and your birthday is coming up! I had no idea they had that promo and would have been trying to book it ahead of time -- maybe you can take advantage of it!

Cheers, Robaht

That is a good find. I guess it is time I roll over from another star alliance carrier into a Thai Airways account.

I only wish Singapore Airlines had such good promo's, dont get me wrong they have the occasional 20% discount on using air miles but thats about it. I've been PPS tier for 2 years now and no promotion has really stood out as a "good offer"..... maybe one day....

Just received a renewed Gold Card from Thai Airways (Royal Orchid Plus). Along with some extra luggage tags, came a brochure, with discount offerings for rental cars, hotels, etc.

I have two complementary upgrades available now (RT)...and, I'm using one in September. Being my birthday month, I'm cashing in a mileage reward (50% less), for BKK/HKT/BKK...for me and my gal.

Also, I've booked a small (cheap) rental car from Avis in BKK, for 12 days (heading north). I'll get a complimentary vehicle upgrade (birthday), as well. Altogether, not bad!

In addition, I'm cashing in hotel points, for (freebie) stayovers in Korat, Ubon Ratchathani, and Pattaya.

I'll have to pay for my hotel in Patong! Geeeeeze???? (cheap charlie 555)

You're right, you're right! What a post...."Me, me, me, I, I, I, I've, I've, etc..."

But, it is "all about ME!"

It's going to be my Birdday...and, you only turn 40, once! 5555

Happy Birthday, to Me. 55555 (Thanks Thai Airways)

Pablo

You can use your Star Alliance miles as qualifying for PPS but being credited to your Thai account. On Thai and SQ anyway. You have to ask though.

Also when you do get your gold card Thai give you a free round trip upgrade on any route they fly. Like London - Auckland with a break in Bangkok each way or London Bangkok LA return. Its called GUP1 Then if you get another 50,000 in a year you get a GUP2.
