From Phi Phi by seaplane

I was supposed to go to Phi Phi yesterday with some newly arrived friends, but gave it a miss due to the weather and all. My friends left, however, and had a quite rough boat ride over. This morning they didn’t fancy the slow boat back to Phuket and inquired about alternative methods. They were told they could hire a seaplane for 3K Baht to take them back. They jumped at the idea and had a fantastic journey back.

Anyone else tried? If not, might be a fun thing to do. Just a heads-up that’s all.

How safe are the seaplanes in Thailand???

Reason I ask... Just finished working in Alaska and over a month period 3 planes crashed killing most the occupants.... These were passengers on cruise ships.

Granted the weather in Alaska is not the best with cloud/fog rain and those mountains geting in their way but if seasoned American Pilots who know the terrain crash how safe are the seaplanes in LOS??

3000 baht per person sounds pretty cheap, it wasn't a bi-plane was it?
