accomodation help please
I will be staying in phuket for 9 weeks from the end of november to the end of january and wondered if any bm`s could advise on finding a room that suits my needs. I am looking for;
Essential
1. In room wifi or other internet connection. At a push, access to the net in the lobby is acceptable.
2 Clean and serviced - eg rooms cleaned, sheets changed.
3. I`m not after a high rise hotel style place, more a small friendly guesthouse or apartment
4. In patong but away from noisy areas like beach road or bangla. I don`t mind a 20 minute or so walk to bangla.
5. guest friendly
6. reasonable price
Desirable
1. Pool or close access to one
Many thanks in advance!

Try Bill or Cathy at the Sea Breeze, excellent hotel, good rates and so friendly, clean and efficient you are guaranteed a good stay.

good idea jonny. I get a sense though that I am falling between two stools here. 9 weeks is too long for me to be paying high season hotel prices - and 9 weeks may be too short for landlords looking for longer term rentals.
Thats why I hope somone here might know somewhere that fits the bill.

No, I am sure he means Summer Breeze in Soi Sansabai, Patong. That is owned by Bill and Cathy is their manager or something.

That is correct, my apologies, I just got back from there and jet lag has set in!! Apologies to Bill and Cathy also.
I think the prices here will be a pleasant surprise and the surroundings conducive to a damn good time!

If you haven't already done so, have a read through the sticky at the top of the Accomodation section http://www.phuket-info.com/forums/ac...esthouses.html
Also, it may be worth thinking about dropping the wifi access down to "desirable" and thinking about find a nice place with a low price that is very close to an internet cafe. A lot of these allow laptops to use their connection, or even have wifi. Once you've finished you just take the short walk back to your accomodation and stick the laptop back in your in-room safe.
Just a suggestion.

I got a reply from summer breeze;
"Thank you for contacting our hotel. Sorry to say that we do no long-term booking as we are booked solid on many days. So I could not take a nine-week booking during high season....just not enough rooms. I'm sure that you will be able to find accommodation somewhere for that period.
Cheers,
Bill"

Lionchai
If you need a place well equipped with own en suite computer facilities try the Lionchai internet cafe.Upstairs they have several apartments fully serviced and good quality.
Now for location.They are in the entrance Soi to Paradise but it is quiet there.
I have not put this up as a p1ss take - they do have good computer facilities.
