Millennium Hotel Opening Next Month in Patong

I see that this place is supposed to be opening next to Carrefour next month with 400 rooms,

Millennium Resort Patong Phuket

although when you try to go on line it says they are full for Xmas and they are not even open yet.

Going to be busy this year.

Regards

Drew

Marc

I have tried to book for Xmas direct with the Hotel and on 2 Hotel websites and they are all quoting 10,000 baht per night.

I also tried to book through this scheme with Singapore Airlines (you can get 70% off when you present your boarding card from the flight)

Global Accommodation Programme - Singapore Airlines Millennium & Copthorne

anyway, I got an email today explaining that they do not offer this discount.

So, looks like it will be 5 Star Prices.

150,000 baht for 2 weeks on a room is too much for me, but I will have a look round and a drink in the place at Xmas.

They will do well to fill 400 rooms at those price when they are only just opening.

Regards

Drew

Looks great. Will be the nicest hotel in Patong. Although it is seems they are going for cold modern minimalist and not doing anything around a tropical beach theme.

I would contact the hotel directly.....have my doubts that the website booking is working as no matter what date I put in it came up as booked out.....including dates in Feb, march April + May next year....

Nicke/bones have you tried Ferb Guethouse....nice big well furnished rooms and a friendly place....not a hotel but a nice guesthouse....away from bangla but still close.....just use BB pool

I wrote to Bill at Summer Breeze about 2 months ago and they were already booked out then????.....gonna be a big Xmas/NY in town!!!

They just emailed me back, seems they have decided to offer a discount.

Dear Khun Drew,

Thanks for your information. We have checked with our corporate office and found that the promotion for Millennium Resort Patong, Phuket will start from as the following details for SIA and Silkair.

Rate : Baht 6500++

Validity : April 16 – October 31, 2008

Rate : Baht 4500++

Close out period January 1-10, 2008 and December 20-31, 2008.

Your booking period therefore is not applied for the above rate.

However we can now offer you more special for our corporate rate as THB 9,000.-net for superior single or double for that period.

Looking forward to welcoming you at our Resort soon.

Best regards,

So as my Gran used to say ''if you don't ask then you don't get'

Good to see them being a bit flexible.

Regards

Drew

Good bet they will not be Gf, so for me it does not matter what the deal is, its not the only reason to holiday in Patong but cannot at the moment think of a more important one.

agree Dodge....its a reasonably important part of the equation for most of us......for me its not so much about the money...its just the whole atittude that stinks in hotels that charge

i tend to disagree that a hotel has a shitty attitude because they charge
thats a business decision that they decided to make
also, can you imagine all the horro stories we dont hear about?

Yeah sure.. But I think what nels meant was.. The charge is only a part of it.. Its the fact they are unfriendly which sours the experience..

If it was just a 500 baht tax would you care, but if they are going to be unpleasant to your companion, give people hassle as they enter or leave without you, or just in any way make a person I am inviting in there feel uncomfortable then I dont want to stay there.

And yes I am sure every hotel in this are has some (probably funny) horror stories.. I remember once running around the palm view naked with about 5 or 6 naked girls, one naked buddy, and a naked shrieking gay guy who had tagged along with the girls.. Woke the whole place up (usually I am considerate) even had naked girls running around knocking on everyones doors 4 or 5 am.. All in the pool with the whole paces curtains twitching !! I hid in the room for the next day as the old owner was a bud and I knew it all got totally out of hand !!

!

actually, id prefer a place with an open joiner fee policy than a place that doesnt charge a fee but puts out that same feeling

i prefer "joiner friendly" hotels

To me that what GF mean.. Guest friendly..

Nt only the money (tho thats most peoples measure) but that they treat ALL guests with basic service minded attitude..

As I said before...money is not the issue it is the attitude that comes with the JF that bothers me

When you've stood at reception with a TG and basically had the dirty old man give her the rounds for 10 minutes...taken her ID card slammed it in a drawer.....muttered something gruffly to her which obviously upset her.....then turn to me and ask for 500bht in cash right now!....I'm sure you wouldn't be happy either...it kinda puts a downer on the whole night and is the reason that stopped me staying in 5 star places in LOS

besides when you book for two guests you should be able to have two people in the room....whether its a different person than the night before.....these JF places act all high and mighty but they are in fact out to profit from prostitution.....doesn't happen anywhere else I stay in the world and makes my blood boil!

If they don't know how to loook after my gusets they don't how to look after me!!!
