Anyone booked on 1-2-Go?

Just curious as to whether anyone is booked on 1-2-Go in the near future.
My mate and I will be flying from Chiang-Rai to Bangkok early November.
I am of the opinion that the chances of it happening again and so soon are quite slim.
I would expect the airline to be "on their game" so to speak when it comes to all things safety.
Anyone so concerned that they are cancelling their 1-2-Go flight?

I think it quite normal for people to be apprehensive so soon after such a tragedy.

As far as my situation goes, I have always favoured Nok Air and Air Asia as budget carriers to fly the BKK-PHK leg, and that hasn't changed. I was really impressed by all aspects of my Nok experience.

We used AirAsia last year from BKK to PHK and were pleased with their service.
We are using AirASia from BKK to Chiang-Mai and then 1-2-GO from Chiang-Rai to BKK.
I have a free return flight with THAI from BKK to PHK and my mate will use AirAsia.
As you mentioned, it depends on the individuals situation and my mate and I go with what we think is cheap but at the same time reasonable.

To be honest, if you really think about it, the chances of this happening again are billions to 1. Realistically, there have only been 3 MAJOR incidents this year. When you compare that to the number of flights per day, you will find what happened a freak occurrence.

I can understand your apprehension, but I would still get on that aeroplane myself.

Ok, in July I took a flight with Thai from Phuket to Bangkok. The landing was a very bad landing (coming in to fast in bad weather), but a couple of days later I was on A Thai flight bound to Frankfurt. No problems.

You'll be fine. Try not to worry and enjoy your trip.

considering that the cause was most likely the bad weather and maybe mistake of the pilot, i would say you have more chances to win a big checkpot than beeing in a crash like that!
i have been flying with all budget-airlines on domestic flights so far, and i will use all of them again.

More like at least 6.

2007

What's reassuring though is this fact>>>

Accidents are extremely rare, with the probability of a passenger being killed on a single flight at approximately eight million-to-one. If a passenger boarded a flight at random, once a day, everyday, it would be approximately 22,000 years before he or she would be killed.

Sure you don't mind the 25 year old BGs, but a 25 yr old plane is out of the question.

Flying on some outdated dinosaur of an airplane is just part of the joys of visiting a third world nation.

Enjoy

Many 25 year old aircraft are in better shape than younger aircraft. I'm sure some of the original Qantas 747-400 would be getting a bit long in the tooth now. I would guess about 20 years old and they are maintaining some of them oveseas.

Im flying one-two-go next week, from Phuket to BKK, and I booked it after the crash, was cheaper to book a new ticket with one-two-go than to change my existing ticket with AirAsia

I never read the full accident report, wind shear and pilot error was what I got out of reading headlines.
Am I right?
