Non-bg friendly hotels/guesthouses.
Hi,
Would you guys please advise on some non-bargirl friendly hotels in Phuket, if any?
My girlfriend and I are going to be out in December and are looking for places to stay. I did try a search, but I live in Dubai and unfortunatly our government finds it appropriate to censor almost everything so I was unable to read the link. ( Phuket hotel guide, phuket hotels)
Thanks in advance!

The majority of hotels in Phuket are what you call "non-bargirl friendly".
So in effect, you are asking for advice on just about any/every hotel other than a handful.
Here's a suggestion from me based on some good reports from friends who have stayed there:
Le Meridien Phuket Hotels: Le Royal Méridien Phuket Yacht Club - Hotel Rooms at lemeridien.com

Package Deals = Not BG friendly
Not sure if it's the same in Dubai. If you book a package deal (flights plus accommodation) with travel agents in Australia, you will end up in a non-BG friendly hotel - guaranteed.
There are some nice price breaks in those packages - it's just not what I'm looking for in a holiday.

Thanks for the replies. Le Meridien is a teeny tiny bit over the budget so I'm just going to do some more looking.
We basically want somewhere safe where we can let our hair down and not have to worry or feel uncomfortable.
But thanks again!

Have you read this thread yet ?
Just look for the hotels/guesthouses with the symbol.
May be easier for you to select a few you like the look of and post them here for known info.
One thing to bear in mind is that hotels do sometimes change their guest policy and may now be friendly/unfriendly toward admitting overnight visitors.
Send them an e-mail asking their policy to confirm if it is that important to you.

I can't really see why you specified "non-bg friendly" ?????? , a lot of hotels/guesthouse cater to a variety of guests (including families) and are safe . I am also curious about why you would feel uncomfortable ?????

I was wondering about this also. If you are staying with your girl friend and are unmarried, then it seems to me a little hypocritical to want to avoid bar girls in a hotel. Not that you would notice them much anyway. Its your choice though.

Thanks. I tried to click on that link earlier, but as I said...the UAE internet provider has blocked it so I can't view it. I've been doing a couple searches on here again and sent emails to a few places.

I don't really see how that is relevant. I also understand this forum caters to a lot of members who view things differently to me and I respect that. However, I am also entitled to my own feelings, views and ideals and would rather not start drama.

I'm assuming nothing. Just taking your post at face value. Your sexual orientation doesn't concern me.
Edit- The link for you once again you should have no trouble reading

Non-bg friendly hotels/guesthouses
Try the Holiday Inn - They are aimed at Families and couples
They are quite strict when it comes to allowing bar girls in!
Plus it was a wonderful hotel with great facilities

This is the link that I am unable to get to:
Phuket hotel guide, phuket hotels
I can see the rest of the page...but I was just assuming there would be more on the non-guest-friendly link, or is it the same thing?
ETA: I found it through the search function.

No seven. The website the OP is trying to read was made by one of our members, Baz. No link to the OP trying to advertise it.

I am very surprised that you cannot view the link that I posted
If you can access this forum, then you can read every thread you have permission to see.
Try going to the main page/Accommodation and Transportation/ 1st post at the top of the page titled "BMs opinions to guesthouses/hotels"
Etisalat must be very clever indeed to be able to block only certain threads on the forum

I think it has to do with the fact that there is the word "bar" in the main link. They just censor out anything that has certain words in the link, it happens a lot.

Look at the title of your thread. Does that not include the word "bar"?
Why are you not blocked from reading this?
Whatever, if you cannot access it, just look at the hotel link on the main page at the top, and choose a few hotels you like the look of, then post t | |
