that's pretty easy...
just follow the signs for domestic (connection) flights.
you'll get a "CIQ" sticker, your visa and the actual gate.
depending on the number of people, it will take about 5 mins
your luggage will be usually checked through automatically (manage this at your check-in at sydney)!

Nacha is correct, can take a bit longer than 5 minutes (distances and queing at immigration, but you have time enough.

sorry sirgeeza BUT ON my two flights from the new airprort march changing at dubai and december changing at AMSTERDAM i was able to buy both spirits and cigarettes the spirit bottle was put in a sealed bag and you were told not to open it until you reached the uk.
on my first trip through the new airport i was not impressed no bars no fast food outlets ques at immigration but on my last trip in november/december i made an efffort to explore a little and yes as crusty says there is a section with several fast food outlets including burger king and also there as he says is the bangkok sports cafe with reasonably priced draught beer and ok food
the ques at immigration were not so bad either although maybe i was just lucky and did not arrive at a busy time !

I didn't want to start a new thread with this.. Does anyone know if I can pick up a 1-2-call SIM card in Suvarnabumi airport????
I am arriving with EVA then turning round and flying Domestic with Air Asia... I remember a few shops at the back of where the check in counters are and a few in the domestics terminal!
Anyones help here is greatly appreciated!!!

Yes you can. I am stealing some others info from another board, but maybe someone on this board can add..
"at Suvarnabhumi as you exit Customs thru arrival hall exit door "B", just to your left you'll see a big blue booth for AIS [1-2-Call] and next to them one for DTAC. AIS booth charges 99 Baht for a new SIM card, and top up cards in 100 & 300 Baht."
I hope to follow this advice also.

Thanks mate!!! I had a search on the forum but when the search engine removes a 3 letter word like SIM it doesn't find the info!!! Also tried the Suvarnabumi airport website but pretty naff really... Just full of Google ads!
Thanks again!

Bargain!!
Went off to quiet corner to read my book and drink my beers.

I find it great that they are still selling alcohol in the family marts inside the airport (not that ive participated) and to be consumed freely...something im sure thats not available where I come from,im pretty sure they keep the alcohol to the sit down food and beverage premises.
....i mean a thai airport without a 7 or a family just wouldnt be right.
plus im sure that a gathering of consuming alcohol on unlicensed premises wouldnt go down to well at heathrow.

the duck and gravy you get in the food court on domestic depatures is the best thing about this airport, fantastic food and cold beer before hitting phuket
