It's the best I've seen yet, very good price.

I still have access to flights but, to be honest, it's very hard to compete with the likes of Etihad's own offers or the internet sites that cut margins to the bone.

I don't really want to book flights now, but I'm happy to take a look and give people a price point to work from. The deals out there are great at the minute.

Just a thought Steve - Its hard for the little guy to outprice the big guys with their websites. Have you looked into being a tour `specialist` - ie putting together a complex trip package. Your time and expertise could then be rewarded by the added value markup. Just a thought

Just went back in.. that £389 flight has gone now to be replaced by a £404... 16th June to 1st July...

Not a bad thought as it goes.

We've just been given access to multi-stop flights and a really neat hotel booking facility so it could be that there is something in it yet.

Hi Steve, I am thinking of going to Thailand from around the 16th June to the 1st July, flying from Manchester. I am thinking of either buying my ticket in the next couple of weeks... or rather leave it until May time... ie. closer to the date I leave... I wondered... are prices likely to increase, stay the same, or decrease between now and June?

I'm a bit of a 'bird in the hand' type guy, so personally I would take a price I was happy with and stop torturing myself by looking at prices. There is always a chance that prices will come down as wheels-up gets closer, but it's far more likely that they will go up so if your dates are set I would say take hte best price you can find now.

That Qatar deal is available, I think, until the 7th of March. I will look at your dates and get back to you.

16th June out 1st July back shows £399 with Qatar. There is an 8 hour wait in Doha both ways. Next best price is Emirates at £490ish.

as for flights with qatar and eithiad...they are around 380-420 ish for the next couple to a few months(if your flexible)...well ive looked from april onwards....if u have a date in mind then i would snap these deals up....it wont get cheaper thats for sure......the deals seem to come and go quickly.ive heard good things about both airlines.

woody, has your friend got a return?maybe thats why his price is higher..sounds about right for a return with EVA...£ 466 cheapest i seen it too for a longtime.

Thanks Steve, I need to wait a week or so for some money to come through before committing.. but as soon as it does I will probably buy... 8 hours in Doha... thats the trade off I guess... small airport... I always find it hard to sleep there as nervous I'll sleep through my alarm lol... Travelled with Etihad and Emirates before... both great.

I am sorta flexible... ideally June 16th to July 1st... but could be any of:

Out: June 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th or 20th

Return: any of 29th June thru till 4th July...

as long as I get 2 weeks out there

Be aware that July is the problem, it's school holidays and there will be price / availability issues.

I just checked and all the deals that were available in feb are gone. A flight to phuket from LHR was 490 and now its way more with a worse airline. Im raging.

Im looking to get back to los in june, 1st to 17th or so even if its bangkok as opposed to phuket just need a cheap way of getting there from belfast or dublin.

Don't know what's going lately, but Emirates is becoming really expensive recently...for our business trips to KSA, it happens more often now that we get pushed down to Saudi Airlines...who are flying for half the price as Emirates. Bad news for my skymiles and freebie to LOS this year;-(

I am a big fan of Etihad but just prefer Qatar - slightly better food IMHO. Also Doha airport is better for hanging around than Abu Dhabi. In flight entertainment is the same, good service, planes in good nick (always a plus in my book).

I would book that price if it were me.

EVA - good flights from my experience, but only LHR & AMS - Qater very good prices, but 8 hour stop over in Doha airport each way, pass the razor blade !!, must be the most boring airport (apart from Teesside) I've ever been in !!

I had to pay 547.70 from Glasgow to BKK that includes the extra taxes upgrading to business both ways using skywards miles but it also means I get the limo service to and from Glasgow airport.

Must of cost a lot of Skyward miles - I use 25,000 for DXB to NCL, so you must be looking at least 100,000 - phew !!!!

115000 miles for the upgrades but better to use them to get a £2000 business upgrade than get a free 500 quid flight. The limo coming to collect me saves me 30 pounds each way. Plus the fast tracking of the luggage means I am on my way to Patts before some people have got through customs.
And because you are flying business you get even more miles to put towards the next trip

of cause, anyone enjoys what they like. I talk to many people who use their frequent flier miles to upgrade to business and I look at them in disbelieve;-)

For a free flight from the UK to LOS you have to redeem 75k skymiles, you almost missed out on 2 free flights for a single upgrade to business.

I know, you enjoy the trip, guess I'm just too tight for that...;-) Having said that, all my miles from last year were spend on the wife and kid to fly up and down
2 times ... leaving me behind my computer posting on Phuket Info;-)

I can understand that thought but to me paying over £2000 for a flight is crazy but using a free gift to make a £500 flight as good as the £2000 one is a no brainer. For me upgrading is better value plus if you are pissed on the flight they still serve you because you turned left rather than right when you boarded

seems like Eva is jumping on the bandwagon....following suit.

I just booked a flight in May for £426....did touch £419,but the time i got round to booking it it was gone...but still cheapest ive seen Eva for a couple of years...thought i would never see the day it was around the £425 barrier.

Once i see BA going down i was gonna give it a week or 2 to see what happened, they acted quicker than i thought.....i think the xtra £10 or so each leg is well worth comparing to BA.
