Where to Book Return Flights Home in Phuket?
I've never had to do this, where's the best place to book airfares back home in Phuket? I assume the small stalls everywhere do it but quite expensively?
Or is it best to go to BKK or Singapore first and then home?

Agree with Steve, if you have your own PC with secure connection (encrypted) then use the airline websites or known ticketing agents and book them yourself.
If you haven't, there are plenty of official travel agencies in town where you can get flights out of Phuket and onwards to your home country.
I have used the one next door to Subway on the Sainamyen/Sawatdirak crossroad which was OK.

HI Steve & Dawsey,
U are suggesting not to use public computers in internet cafe's?
what can be the risk ?
i have used internet cafe's in Patong & Bangkok before a few times in past few years to book flights & never had any trouble , (luckily)
i guess using them to buy air tickets & using yr credit card to pay , may be asking for trouble,
any advise will appreciated , as i am in Patong in Feb. 2008 -
then heading to Bangkok & Cambodia & up to Chaing Mai - Bangkok - & was going to use internet to book flights & some accomodation, but maybe now i may have to use a travel agent.
Cheers Gary (Australia)

Hi Gary,
Yes, it is unwise to use a public PC to do any financial transaction, especially in LOS. Have a quick look at this thread below
http://www.phuket-info.com/forums/ex...=Internet+Cafe.
I would expect hotel wireless networks to be encrypted (if they give you a password) so that should be much safer. I understand that the wi-fi at Summer Breeze is encrypted (hotel in Soi Sansabai),and the owner is a member of Phuket-info forum, so maybe a word with Bill and you could use his connection to surf for flights and book them while having a beer in his bar
Hope you get your flights sorted OK, but the travel agents in Patong are pretty good as a last resort.
One last thought, why not book the lot from home in Aus before you start out? I know you are fixed with your dates then, but you could always get the main ones done from home first, and have the security of knowing your flight is confirmed. Feb is high season, and many flights are full. Just a suggestion anyway Gary.

I've used them too. Queen Air Booking Centre it's called. They are fine. Found flights myself on the internet for round trip to UK from here so knew the price...went to one travel shop got quoted 7000baht more for the same flights...went to Queen Air and got quoted exact same price as I'd found

I used Paramount Travel service to buy my return ticket back to BKK. They are a legit travel agent, and are about 50-100 metres south of Christins on te opposite side of the road. 210/20 SOI KEBSAP. Price with Air-Asia was similar to the web and they booked me a car to the airport as well for 550bht.
And the TG behind the counter was not to bad on the eye as well.

Some mates use Chawla travel in BKK. They just mail. Google the internet for their website.

Thanks 4 all the replies,
i will have to seriously have to rethink now when i use public computers, i have been to thailand before & used them to book internal flights & check my bank accounts , & never had any problems (thank god). I dont own a laptop , so may have to use a travel agent to book flights no probs. but checking my banking may be a concern now.
Cheers Gary
