1 way to Thai
Good evening mates
I was wondering how much it would cost for me to buy a ticket from Thailand to my country, Denmark? And would it be a problem if I were to buy 1 way ticket from here to Thailand because i'm going to buy one from Thai to Denmark?
I read somewhere that in Thailand, there are rules with entry with a 1 way ticket and no return ticket. Is this true? Thanks alot.

That is true.
Most likely the airline will not transport you to Thailand without a return ticket.

I think you will find that the cost of 2 x single tickets is double that of 1 x return anyway.

That is too bad.
But the problem is that I don't want to buy a 2 way ticket due to the loong travel time. From here to Thai 10 hours, from there to here 10 hours, from here to Denmark 6 hours. It take me forever... and I don't like flying that much...
Anyone have an idea what to do? I really want to visit Thai and spend the new year there and then come back directly to Denmark.

Aren't you in Denmark?
Wherever you are ... fly from there to LOS and back.

Well you dont need a return ticket to the same place as you leave from?
All they want is proof that you are heading elsewhere after your visit.
Call the airline you wanna fly with and ask them, shouldnt be a problem.

if you have a long term visa you will be ok for a single flight, otherwise you need a return ticket/on ward journey. Otherwise the airline can (and will) stop you boarding or immigration will not allow you in. That be the law.
Of course it can depend on the flight crew + immigration officals. If they notice. But on my last trip, for the first time immigration was asking everyone for there return/onward flight details i.e. my eticket home.

Where is here? Presumably here is neither Dk or Thailand? In which case you could at the begining of your trip to Thai go first to Dk 6 hrs, spend a night there to 'recover' then using a return ticket fly to Thai for new year and return direct to Dk? Or is this too simple? Will you go back to here in the new year?

Why not just buy a multi-stop ticket?

Well i have just returned from LOS, i left Angola with a one way ticket to LOS, i had an e-ticket to get me to Sri Lanka but had forgotten to print it out, so i was slightly worried about immigration, but on arrival in suvanabuminini i was not asked for any onward ticket, the sign at immigration asks for passport, arrival card and boarding pass, nothing else.
Then coming back from Sri Lanka to LOS i did not have any onward ticket and managed to get in no problems, the airlines were Thai from London and Srilankan airways.
The only small problem i have ever had was with Air France when they thought i was in country for 31 days and would only get a 30 day visa, but on recalculation it was only 30 days so they let me on.
BUT please check with the airline anyway as i dont want to be the one you blame if you dont get in.

You could always try the train.
I think the route goes through Russia accross siberia and down through China.

This covers London to Singapore, just drop step 7.
Quote:
If you have the time (allow about 4 weeks one-way), you can travel from London to Singapore overland. The links below cover travel in either direction, from London or to London:- Step 1: London to Moscow by train. Daily departures, 2 nights, from about £140 one-way with sleeper.
- Step 2: Moscow to Beijing by Trans-Siberian Railway Two trains a week, 6 nights, from about $350 one-way in 4-bed sleeper.
- Step 3: Beijing to Hanoi by train Two trains a week, 2 nights, about $110 or £70 one-way in soft sleeper.
- Step 4: Hanoi to Saigon by train Several trains daily, 2 nights. Why not stop off to see Hue or Hoi An? About $60 or £35 one-way in soft sleeper.
- Step 5: Saigon-Phnom Penh by bus Daily, 1 day.
- Step 6: Phnom Penh-Battambang by train or bus, bus to the frontier, train to Bangkok.
- Step 7: Bangkok to Singapore by train. Daily, 2 nights, from £35 or $50 one-way including sleeper for both nights.
There is no one agency who can arrange all the stages of a trip like this, so you will need to plan it and arrange each leg yourself - a small exercise in project management..! Just follow the advice on each seat61 page to buy tickets for each part of the journey. Some of this trip is best pre-booked (for example London-Moscow-Beijing-Hanoi), other sections are best booked as you go (for example, Saigon-Phnom Penh and Phnom Penh-Bangkok).

First of all I would like to thank you guys for your replies.
First of all i'm currently in Dubai. Second I think it would be wise to buy a 2 way ticket so I can avoid any trouble and third, I'll see if there's a cheap ticket from Thai to DK. If it's too expensive I just use my return ticket back to Dubai and from there, back to DK with my old ticket.
Thanks alot

Ah, now you have stated where you are , its easier to give an opinion. 555
For what it's worth, just fly Emirates from DBX to BKK on a return ticket. (Its less than 6hrs flight time), then once back in Dubai, stay overnight and rest up and get a single ticket back home to DKK. Should make a long journey easier I would think.

Well I could always use the expensive hand, and buy myself a new ticket from BKK to Denmark. Instead of flying back to Dubai and then to DK. But we will see when the time comes. Did that last time but it cost me like 700 bucks
Thanks.

But when I get hangovers almost every day, I just want to be in one place, and it's home
But I hope that this time it will be different!
