Salil hotel, Sukhumvit soi 8

Hi guys!
I have a friend (a Thai lady) that works as a hotel receptionist in Bangkok, she has recently gone to work in a newish hotel on Sukhumvit soi 8 called Salil hotel she tells me the rooms there are some of the most beautiful she's ever seen, she wants me to stay there on my next trip to Bangkok, the rooms are a bit expensive for me, 2200 baht on the hotels own website: Hotels in Sukhumvit,Chic & Boutique Bangkok Hotel - Salil Hotel, Bangkok Hotel Thailand, with Low Cost Room Rates & Wi-Fi Internet Access- Online Booking & Reservation Services
But I have found it on wotif.com for 1600 baht which is closer to my normal price range!
Has anyone ever stayed there? What's it like? Is it very far away from Sukhumvit? She tels me there is no "joiner fee" but on one of the sites I checked it states that there is a joiner fee of 200 Baht on anther sie it says that the joiner fee is 300 Baht, any info on this hotel would be appriciated!

Soi 8 is pretty long - you should check exactly where along the street the hotel is located as some are buried so deep into the soi it can be a fair walk to Nana.

On the hotels website they've got a picture of a golf cart which they use to ferry guests to the end of the soi closest to Sukhumvit, so I'm guessing the hotels quite far up the soi, but the photos of the rooms etc: on the site look great!

It is only 300 metres from the Nana Station, a breeze for a postman.

(By the way, what's your mode of delivery? I use Honda CT110's, but walk the shopping/office strips).

Judging by the room description and photos this place is new and luxurious.

29 inch LCD TV with DVD/CD.

American breakfast

Luxury fittings and decor

If you book Superior room for two adults via

Bangkok hotels Salil Thailand hotel discount accommodation = 1,825 baht

Salil Hotel, Bangkok, Sukhumvit: Great Hotel Offers from 49 USD by SmartStays = 1,975 baht

Salil Hotel Bangkok Thailand - Last-Minute Internet Hotel Deals = 1,480 baht

Salil Hotel - Bangkok hotels Thailand = 1,900 baht

As you can see, shopping around via agents can save you plenty.

Joiner should be free as you are booking for two adults.
Some places screw you by insisting joiners name appears on the booking to be free.
Simply e-mail hotel to find out about their joiner policy, by suggesting you are booking for two but your partner will arrive later.
Anyway, how do you plan to get a joiner in without your thai lady finding out?

Keep your lady happy and put a smile on your face by booking online (save up to 820 baht per night over Salil direct pricing).

Looks like a really nice little boutique hotel.

I usually stay at the Royal President on Soi 15 which is alittle more expensive, but has a pool etc.

May give this one a try sometime. Looks good.

they provide free trasfer via the golf cart.very near to nana bts.the problem is getting back to your hotel which will take at less a good 12 minutes walk.the golf cart only provide transfer to BTS but not backed.you may halt them in the mids of walking backed if you spot the golf cart.

it is a pretty quiet street and away from the main street.the place looks very new and there is a resturant which serve pretty nice food at its lobby...took my girl there for breakfast.

lastly it is soooo bloody close to lolitas...a quicky BJ if your john itches for one.
