Blue Sky Residence

Anyone stayed at the Blue Sky Residence?

Another board member told me he called them and they said they were guest friendly, although neither of us have stayed there but we both have reservations for late August. The rooms look fantastic for the prices and I was wondering why I had not heard much about them considering the quality of the room pictures and the fact that they are supposedly guest friendly.

Any input would be appreciated.

There was a thread on this I think do a search, it's up on the hill thats the biggest problem to far away. Once you have stayed so close it's hard to comprehend walking to far or catching a tuktuk.

There are many good hotels in Patong just email them to find out about joiner charges etc.

Those deluxe rooms do look good with the view let us know if you stay there and what it's like.

Thanks River, I found the thread.

I don't really mind the distance as I know I will rent a motorbike.
I know all the horror stories about a motorbike, but I can't resist my
temptation to have my own transportation. As long as the rooms they show on the pictures are the actual rooms and they don't have a joiner fee then I am fine.

I'll report my findings about the hotel to the board after my August trip.
Thanks

I booked my mate into the Blue Sky for a month... great rooms.. small but usable pool.. guest friendly..

I haggled (hey i am an expat ) and got a room for 10k for the month (at Song Gran).. very good considering the room quality maid service and pool... They did screw up though and I booked a specific room.. My buddies flight was not due in until about 8 PM so I called lunchtime explaining he would be a late check in and not to worry about the reservation...

When he checked in the gave him a bogus room that was round the back with no view or balcony / outdoor chilling space.. As soon as I saw it I went and spoke with them and they told me that they had A) forgotten his booking until I called and B) had nothing else available for a week or 10 days... very unprofessional handling and I wonder if I haggled too hard and just was given the bad room because of it..

Also on Nanai is the Andaman Hill (??) hotel.. doing specials listing 700 baht and I know they offered 500 to me (haggling) even only just out of high season.. Need to book a double to avoid joiner fees but its a nice place good rooms and pool.. bit close to Nanai Rd tho..

Palm View on Nanai (Simons) is very freindly and often full of Brits.. I am often over the Rd in the offshore bar (just returned from watching England get raped by the ozzies at rugby !!)... I think around 800 per night now..

Personally I would never stay down around the Bangla nonsense and always rented a bike... lots of places on Nanai / Sai Nam Yen to be had.. However I can get you a special rate in the Yorkshire inn if you do want to be near the action.
