Air rage on British planes on the rise!

Saw an article in the paper recently about air rage involving British aircraft.

CAA reported a 60% increase to 2,219 incidence since the previous year.

Common causes were drunkeness, lighting up smokes, or being prevented from smoking.

Also arguments between passengers due to seat allocation and being cramped by reclining front seats.

I wonder if any of the BM's have had first hand experience or tales to tell?

also crap and overly bossy/indiffrent BA staff may ahve something to do with it.....plus all of the shi'ite you have to go through just to get on/off a plane at Heathrow

I avoid Heathrow airport and all British carriers if at all possible....as do I avoid all US carriers and US airports if possible....the logistics is a nightmare in these places

I have had one bad experience with BA and Gatwick, I avoid those like the plague. I'd rather travel through Amsterdam, or Germany.
I'd like to avoid Chicago/O'Hare, makes it difficult since I live in Chicago...

Drink may be the main cause, but being cooped up in a plane with no leg room or knee room certainly doesn't help.
I'm just back from a 5 day holiday in Greece and flew with KLM and have to say i enjoyed it as there was more leg/knee room than usual.

My worst flight ever was with Britain airways.

Wouldnt fly with them again even if it was free.

Imagine being on your way down to LOS for a much deserved vacation and some I&I, and some drunken idiot goes berserk and forces the plane to land...*shudder* I know it happens once or twice a year from Sweden and Denmark anyway...

Second the criticism about BA by the way. Once, and never again. I'll avoid Heathrow if I can also.

Yep, BA are crap to fly with.
But it gets worse if you are sitting next to a loud mouth Australian, talking about how great it is to live there.
If it is, why are so many of you anywhere but there!!

Dont get me wrong, I would rather be anywhere else but the UK, but I dont bs everyone about how good it is!

oh dear....it's gonna be another one of these is it?

I'm not too fond of anyone being too patriotic but just maybe you should listen to those Aussies's UKGuy from Scotland....... (what sort of a Scot says he's from the UK anyway)...it's because we travel that we know what opportunities Aus has to offer rather than in spite of it.....so why don't you just go and take a look for yourself rather than taking or leaving a flight comapanion's word for it

are you sure you are not rom Australia yourself....your MO fits in with another famous BM in here who has used many guises to wind up the board as often as possible!

Getting back on topic ().

I often thought of British Airways in high regard.

Surprised to hear so many have had bad experiences.

Maybe it was the marketing although I've never really had first hand experience with them.

Aren't the British stewardesses attractive cuties though, making it nice to be onboard?

Sure, but while you are flying from point a to b, isn't it great you got some hot air hostesses pampering you...live's short and you gotta enjoy as many hours as possible 5555

Put it that way, imagine for a second you would run your own airline....how would the stewardess look like?

wow, that's the first time I hear someone is charging for the entertainment system.

Strangly, I don't feel surprised enough that this today is/was a distinctive service factor, but could possibly be on order going forward.

Just think about the beer you have to pay on many airlines these days.

A depressing thought how everything get's commercialized up to death really.

What's next, no personal headsets and iPOD's allowed in the cabine? Proberly under a fake reason of security concerns.
