Right now there is 583 people stranded at Arlanda (Stockholm) due to their charter flight to Phuket is delayed 6 times and is now 2 days late. Looks like they will get off tonight, with two replacement airplanes they got hold of. Bad start on their Christmas holiday.

Couldn't imagine...What a stressfull way to start a vacation! Not sure I would have a whole lot of confidence in the airline getting me home again.

Strange But True
In a recent letter from my son's school it was pointed out that it is now illegal to withdraw a child from school without written permssion from the governors - which will not be granted except in exceptional circumstances. (Such is the Police state we now live in here in the UK).
So BAA. If I am to suffer a criminal prosecution because I cannot return my children to school as a result of your industrial action.. I can see a class action coming.
Given the above I do wonder if the BAA lawyers will reconsider the 7th January as the right date for their dispute with so many children left out to dry and abandoned alone at airports. I can already see the lawyers preparing the papers along the lines of human rights violations - child protection, criminal negligence of the child education act and contempt of the legal system in the UK. (Which is pretty contemptible anyway but wtf).

Why would you blame BAA Mac? Those ****ing unions pull this stunt every holiday season, if it's not illegal strikes by the food suppliers it's baggage handlers looking for more money (as if they don't earn enough bonuses by rifling through our luggage and nicking everything worth selling!!)
I'm not against employees fighting for their rights, but they do it at this time of year to have maximum impact and don't give a toss about the misery it causes.

Yes you are right of course. I was just having a rant as I have had to rebook business class returns and shorten our holiday. Actually Swiss Air have kindly said that they will hold the tickets and not charge for them unless we need them. Just a short aside, it is sometime cheaper not to buy the cheapest non-refundable ticket.. I wish I had a earnings related final pension...
Lol

Just to add a bit more "Seasonal Cheer" to this thread , the weather has joined in !!!!! Some flights out of London have been cancelled due to fog.
From the BBC:
Quote:
|
Travellers from London airports faced further delays a day after fog grounded 140 flights and left more than 1,000 people stranded overnight at Heathrow.
