Guesthouse
hi any BMs owned a guesthouse? trying to find something cheap for my friends who going to Phuket during Dec. his budget is around 700-800 per night. sended few mail to some really cheap guess house (400/500) but no respond, not sure if they have been down? he wish to stay near to the "paradise" (Bangla Road). thank you very much if you guys can help my poor mate.

http://www.paradizo.com/ i have not stayd at the place so i dont have more info on it but ther is plenty of "Guesthouses"in the soi paradise area

Paradizo No Paradise
A friend of mine stayed at the Paradizo last year. He like it because they had MTV and a movie channel. When you get into the cheaper places most of them only have Thai channels, and maybe a sitcom American channel or a French channel.
In April, I wasn't too happy with the place I was staying because of the massive electric transformers on the pole outside my window. I think they were frying my brains, and they went whoom, whoom if you turned off the noisy a/c, and listened. So I checked out the Paradizo which had rooms for 500 and 600 Baht. The one for 600 really needed a fresh coat of paint, kinda dirty, and the other one had no windows and smelled weird. Definitely got a thumbs down from me. There are a lot of other cheap places in that neighborhood, but I don't know if they are any good. One that looked a little more presentable was called Family Mansion, but I didn't look at the rooms.
