Phuket-Bangkok Transit

Has anybody transited from international to domestic at Phuket airport in recent times? Shouldn't be that hard really it's not a big place. Flying in from Sydney at 8.00 pm - AirAirasia at 9.25 pm to Bangkok. I know that is cutting it close and I could have put myself in a whole load of shit. I have been in and out of the place but never really looked.

That's pretty tight Nigel. Are you relying on Jetstar to get you into Phuket at 8pm sharp? You could be well fcuked. Is that the last flight from Phuket to Bangkok on that night - even with Nok Air?

There is another AirAsia flight later that lobs into Bangkok at 12.25 am. Yeah i know i am putting a lot of faith in Jestar and they haven't even altered the flight time yet by 10 -20 minutes. Just waiting for the email notification.

Plus you (I am guessing) have to clear customs in HKT which can be a slow process some times.. Guessing as I doubt bags will get checked through with jetstar.

My experience is that Jetstar usually run fairly close to time.

Travelled with them SYD-HKT a few weeks ago and got in HKT 1 hour early!!

Have flown AirAsia many times and rarely leave on time, anything up to 2 hours late.

I think you will make it Nige.

I think the worst-case scenario is that you will be bumped onto that flight that gets into BKK at 12.25am.

Surely that flight will have spare seats, so if you miss the earlier connection, you will be put on that flight.

Have the phone number of your driver in BKK with you just in case you miss the connection....

Yeah i was praying BKK for customs but will ask about pushing bags through but I doubt it. Yes HKT is slow even then. When I have flown in before we seem to be the only ones there. However, can't remember waiting anything like 30 minutes. I will just run faster to get to the front of the queue.

I haven't had any issues with arrival times in either direction with Jetstar so fingers crossed.

The worst case scenario I suppose is bumped to the next flight. I have the number of car service and hotel. For some reason the hotel didn't want a deposit which I wanted to do because of this situation. That Swiss bloke is also on notice should there be a need of help on the ground and unable to contact at least the hotel. Although hard to get to your phone out of your pocket if a gogo girl is grinding away. Right Oli?

Nigel, if you miss your Air Asia flight, you will have to pay for a new ticket,
if
there are any seats. Air Asia are not responsible for any flight delays or your arrival time from Oz. 45mins before take off I read, is the cut off time and they can refuse you boarding. Hope you make it.

I dont mind the extra ticket as this one only cost 400bht. I may even give some thought to booking later flight, but then I won't reach Patts until maybe 2.30 am. But 2.30 am is better than10.00 am the next day.

Cheers for that Bernie. Don't worry I will leave my pink undies at home.

My 'permanent' relationship (which does not involve sending support) depends on which personality is in control of her body on any given day 55555. I certainly didn't like being stalked the first day I was in Patong last time.

I don't have a good side so showing them my pic could be a grave mistake. Anyway, after one in particular for the first night if she is still there, even though she did call me poppa last time. If not plenty more.

Aren't budget airlines wonderful, turns out my flight now arrives a 7.20 pm at HKT and the AirAsia flight now departs 9.50 pm. Will get to Patts a bit later but at least I have a better than even chance of savouring the delights of a LBFM that night.
