Recommendations for a lower priced guest house/small hotel with Wifi? Something under 1500 baht? Summer Breeze would work but I think they might be full. Last minute trip planning (arrive 2/12) for a three week working vacation. Working on a project I need Internet access in my room. I don't really care about a pool or even a TV. Reasonable walking distance to Bangala.

Oh yea, and guest friendly. All work and no play....

ST66 stayed at Lionchai guest house, Soi Paradise- its ok you are close enough to the end of the streep to avoid the Dark Side. Check with him or this link- he seemed happy enough with it. Liontchai Guest House - Patong Thaïland

Looks quite good for the money but notice it's in paradise complex.....watch your back!!

Tis 25m from Rat-u-thit-- not an issue, Ferb is a 10 minute walk from Bangla and very nice as well, even though its very near the Soi Banzaan traffic bulge.

i never stayed in their rooms but i only use Lionchi for the internet cafe
superb, so i would think the wifi is good

It is a very good cafe and the only one I use now.

I really appreciate the help. What an asset this board is. Just got ticket approved SFO to HKT $1,170. I think that's a great price, not wanting to spend a night in BKK. 22 hours of traveling. Midnight flight - late afternoon arrival. Ambian....check.

Internet speeds are very VERY slow in Patong at the moment.

Rumoured to be some damage to some of the cabling??

Ferb is a quality room IMO..

For cheap you could look at route 66 ?? catcomber stayed there for about 600 baht a night with internet IIRC.

Depending on your dates and if you want to spend more.. Palm view has a pool and internet and is very nice rooms, probably at the top side of that budget.
