Welcome to the forum

There is no charge at either hotel for guests,so you have made a good start.
I suggest you have a look at some of the posts in this section and you will find all your answers yourself.
Here is one report from Neptuna

I stayed at the Neptuna Hotel just across from the C & N hotel next to Bangla road. It is a larger room with a nice secluded garden view. It has a pool but not nearly as large as the Expat's There is no joiner fee and the staff is friendly. The only thing that drives me crazy is the shower. The heating unit in my shower went out the last trip and I was too lazy to change rooms again.

Neptuna doesn't charge for a guest. I stayed there earlier this month for the second time.

I'm no to the forum, maybe you can help me, in 1998 I was in phuket, with my family and co. and this year in may I will go alone, now I would like to know if maybe the Patong Beach Hotel should be ok (no guest fee etc..) ? I never done this before and if you can get me a little instruction about that all..

Could somebody please give me an update regarding Club Bamboo Resort? I have just booked for 10 days in April and do not want to be surprised, if they have started to charge a joiner fee recently. Thanks in advance.

Puhket Gracelands emailed me that they have a joining fee of 1000 Baht. Given I am twin sharing I will looking at something for LT's.

I think for graceland and the kind of hotel/resort it is that isnt to steep.Im surprised they even let the girls past security..but I wouldnt let that price deter you from staying there as I said in another post great lookin hotel..anway Ive stayed at non guest friendly hotels, and if you grab a girl you like, the girls have a knack of finding some place to accomadate you for the night..next to nothin, and you can go back to your hotel in the morning and recharge the batteries..good excuse to say goodbye to them in the morning anyway..I will be in patong the same time as you catchya for a beer or 3 at mtb..

Just a quick check to ask if Salathai Resort in patong is still guest friendly and also how far is it from the main/action strip, from the map it seems a good walk (I wonder if it is wise to do this walk late at night, like 2am with a girl in tow ! How much the taxi/Tuk Tuk will charge that time of the night ?!).

Yes it is...At most a 10 minute walk.

As Spector stated, a max of 10mins walk. Not worth a tuk tuk ride.Probably charge you 100/150 for a minutes drive too. Should be safe enough at that time of night, especially if you go to the top of Bangla and along Rat Rd.

How about saying "Read The Stickies" , got this quote from BM opinions thread.

actually, I did do the search and found that same quote you mentioned but it dates as far back as 2005. And we all know how patong changes day by day, let alone 3 years!

anyway, no worries.
might stay at millennium instead.

I stayed in the Thara Patong in 2004 and 2006. There was a joiner fee in 2004 (can't remember how much).
But in 2006 they had a notice at reception saying that there was no joiner fee for the duration of the low season.

Maybe they still have that policy?

I'd just like to let everyone know that I stayed at Lawan a couple of months back, they were extremely guest friendly and I never had any problems with the the staff who were always happy and cheery in the mornings.

The Lawan Residence - A Mini Boutique Hotel in the Heart of Patong

I'd recommend their hotel and services to anyone seeking cheap, central hotel, that's within stumbling distance of the nightlife. Not once was I asked for a joiners fee.

^^ Another recommendation for Lawan Residence. Nice room, very comfortable bed and WiFi. 5 minutes walk from Bangla. Perfect.

Seems to be their continuous policy.

Low season : no joiner
High season : joiner fee

They do not want to p*** off all the families during christmas that have to explain to the kids....
