Hello all BM.. i need your help

im doing a visa run to penang on sunday 16 Feb and want to take my Thai gf with me for company... she has mentioned something about paying a 1500Baht fee when she re-enters Thailand..

is this correct information...

and if not has anyone done this previously and what are the requirements for her to go with me ..

Never heard of that. I stayed in Malaysia with my (ex) TGF for over 1 year and she would fly in and out no problem. A 1 day visa run may be different. I was asked for a brible when coming through Singapore by bus once though with her, but only 50 ringgit. Good luck!

90 GBP to save sitting on 2x 12 hour bus rides ?!?! Bargain..

You are aware that Penangs currently a nightmare over tourist visa's ?? Want tickets not only out of thailand but out of asia (and they even seem to check some) plus they want to see hotel reservations for your entire duration etc..

Since Penang got a new consul general a month or so back they have become the least friendly in asia for tourist visa's..

I think he will apply for business visa, as I know he is setting up company etc. I think he sit on the bus to Phuket town right now, he was drinking tonight and said he will not sleep and get the bus to town and then to hat yai, and sleep on the bus.

But sounds very bad for Penang consulate in any case.

B singles are standard.. B Multiples hard...

They seem to have relaxed a bit and are giving non imm O's to married guys with 400k in the bank again..

But tourist visa's they are making up new rules and using every possible reason to deny them currently..

if i have a multiple non im b and just need to make a visa run, not renew it will i have any problem in penang?

OK in that case you dont actually need to go to Penang.. Simply border hopping Sadao or Padangbasser (dont know how thats spelt).. Or even a trip up to Ranong / Andaman club casino..

Malaysia is quite a bit longer for a overland visa run.. Tho Penang isnt a bad place to spend a night or two, hat yai even better..

You can in/out to the Casino for 1850B with one of the visa companies, far pleasanter than the big bus to Ranong and the main Immigration office there.

I used to do the casino run - no hassles, everything taken care of and you get a nice lunch and to gamble for a couple of hours.
