Hi Cali,
If you have the time, take a look at the rest of the posts on this page. You will find many references to CN Hotel. Many members recommend it and as you have asked,it is very close to Bangla. You should easily get home on your hands and knees after a night in Mai Thai on "Black Death"
Enjoy your trip

Forgot to mention, go to http://cnhotel.com and you will find pics of the hotel there. I dont think anyone has posted pics inside CN Hotel here mainly because of the content

Black Death is a shooter, a Nicke's speciality. You should taste it ... with moderation but it is not always possible

You're booked just give flight details for airport pickup and pay as you go or at the end of your stay, up to you.

Hi Cal,
Yeah i got a rate of 600baht as well but what i want to know is dose that include taxes. Also i'm thinking about booking with C&N Resort & Spa for the last few days that i'm there as there is no pool at there hotel & it will be good to get away from everything before i travel around Thailand.
What time do you arrive in phuket Cal

No taxes
The price they quote is all inclusive. The only other charge you might have to pay is if you use credit card, they will charge a small fee on top which really isnt that much, its a percent or two. They are starting to do this in australia more and more so nothing to get worried about. Otherwise pay cash for your room, no extra fee.

Pickup
C&N Hotel pickup is very reliable. IVe arrived many times at various times of the day, and theyve always been waiting, sometimes i am the only person they are picking up ! Long way to go just for 1 person i think but they still do it. Absolutely it is free. Normally when you book via email upon confirming they will ask your incoming flight details. If they have done this then all should be ok. are u arriving 4:30am, or 4:30pm? The ride is typically about 45min, sometimes 1 hr if traffic is bad.
If they didnt turn up for some reason (very unlikely) no drama, just get in a shared mini bus (150-170baht) $5 AU, or a private car about 550 baht $18 and go there yourself. Good to know the alternatives just in case.
All will be fine
Enjoy your trip

VIP Room
Dont worry overly about the VIP room, its a fraction bigger and has a bath as opposed to a shower which the double has but the actual room standard isnt any higher then the normal double room.
When checking in standard double rooms always ask for the "newer" rooms. They do have a few older rooms which are a little smaller and bathroom bit older, and sometimes you will get put in one of these. Normally when u ask to be put in the newer room they say no problems. and its not any extra so why not ask.

Jezza
Ur going to stay at the C&N just(only) off Soi Bangla and ur gonna share a room with ur mate???
Whats the deal ur not from Queensland or Tasmania are you???
Get a room each otherwise think of all the fun your gonna miss unless you like spit roasts as Mike does...
BTW the double rooms are very good as well - Make sure you get on the upper floors as they seem to be nicer + ask for one with a bath tub.

Which rooms are better the C&N or Patong Villa. I have booked at Patong Villa but the feedback on the C&N seems good. Am thinking of changing to C&N. Only reason went for Patong Villa was for the pool but im only staying in Patong for 2 days before heading to Pattaya for the first time so may not use the pool much.

I have not stayed at Patong Villa but judging by the prices and comments from other board members it seems to be a little more upmarket hotel than C&N, i would say the rooms would be a little bit nicer. If you are only in Patong for 2 days, and already have a booking at Patong Villa, i dont think its worth changing to C&N.
Maybe if you are in Patong for 1-2 weeks or more C&N would be a better choice for you. Next time around!

Airport transfer
Does anyone know if the Patong Villa offers transportation from the airport and, if so, whether it is free?

They say on their website that they charge 550 bath for airport transfer by minibus. It's expensive for a minibus, I think you can find cheaper at the airport.
