any info about Patong Green Mountain Resort?

hi guys,

i was searching a lot for a hotel and/or appartment in patong, not very pricy, with wireless lan that i can work there and not directly in the town, so that its not to loud.
during my research on HRS booking system i found the Patong Green Mountain, which seems to be realy cheap (29 usd/night in may), on the website Patong Green Mountain Resort - Resort Seaview Hotel Patong Beach Phuket Thailand
the hotel looks nice.
does anybody of you know the hotel? or heard about it?
or does anybody does something better (pricerange is up to 45 usd/night)

thanks for your tips,
Wolf

A guy who works across the office from me stayed at Green Mountain last April with a group of mates on his first visit to Patong, reported everything was good clean tidy with a good pool, OK breakfast too. He also added that it was a little out of the nightlife area and there were lots of taxi and tuk-tuk rides but as they shared the cost I recall about 200 bhat it was OK.

the hotel was on my list last year but ended up staying at Poppa Palace where room was a little more expensive but no tuk-tuk costs

hope it helps

thankyou very much for the info.

as we will rent a car directly at the airport and i have no problems on driving in phuket (did it already 4 times) the distance is no problem for us.

by the way, i contacted the hotel by email and they confirmed very fast my booking by HRS and also that they have free wireless lan in all rooms.

after i am back i will report if the hotel is the money worth we will pay for it

my gf and i has traveled in the last 3 years a lot around the world as we can fly stand by with the most airlines, so we put all the avaiable money in 5* hotels etc. that started to become boaring and now we are more enjoying some priceworth hotels and spending more money for some trips to other desitantions or tours or buying some local gifts for our house etc.

cu all in may :-))
Wolf.

Cool Location

Soi Prambee 3 is a very narrow side street.I have been up past this hotel many times. The easiest way to find the entrance to the street is that it is almost opposite the big Esso Petrol Station.

Hiring a car in Phuket is no problem. Finding parking in Patong is a bigger problem in the evening.

ok guys,
just a short copy and paste of my (german) text on tripadvisor for the 18 days we stayed at the patong green mountain..
(short version: we enjoyed it, it was much more worth than the money we payed for it and the Wifi was working also very good :-))
just for the hunters: its not girl friendly, if you get each night a "guest", you have to pay 500baht/night. If you choose to stay a longer time with the "new" friend, you can talk with them and you dont have to pay the joiner fee anymore...

we will be back in august with our children, and will stay again there...

CU, Wolf.

*******************snip from my tripadvisor comments***********
The most positiv coments her on tripadvisor are true. We loved it.
The Patong Green Mountain (sometimes also Phuket Green Mountain called) is a good value hotel rount about 1-2 km walking distance away from the center of Patong. The hotel is on the middle of a mountain in the north of patong. The Hotel is very comfortable, has a clean beautiful pool, a small bar, about 45 double rooms all the same equiped and a brekfast room / restaurant for about 20 people. The rooms are very clean, large, have individual aircon and a small refrigerator.
Breakfast is included, in the main season they have a buffet, in the low season some kind of menue, you can just mix all the stuff which is avaiable at the menue to have a good breakfast. The restaurant is very good, much better than most of the standard restaurants at the beach or in the centre of patong and not expensive.
There are 2 internet pc (2baht per min), but if you have your own laptop you can use in all rooms and at the restaurant / bar / pool the free WLAN network.
The staff is very friendly and usually very eager, a few additional english-hours might not be bad :-)

We personally always rent a car on our trips, i would at least rent a scooter recommend, because the walking to the tourist places is to long (30 min or so), also they have a free transfer shuttle each hour to the beach.

Overall a very good value hotel with free wireless lan, no hazzle of tsunamis in the night :-) and very familar.
Its also a good hotel for familys, not that much single guys with "one-night-stands" there as they have to pay some "joiner-fee".

We will probably soon return to the Green Mountain Patong.

CU,
Wolfgang Busch / Hamburg / Germany

yep - it's gone not girl friendly

the approach has changed my mate who enjoyed his stay last year returned about 1 month ago and as you state this place is no longer gf - think he said the joiner fee was 500 per girl

As the room was under 1000 that's a bit steep imo

As my mate said he and the bunch of guys he was with won't be returning at that price
