Mobile Navigation, here Garmin Mobile XT
hi guys,
just played a little bit around with my nokia n95, installed garmin mobile xt for symbian series 60 and saved the thailand map on the phone.
seems to be realy good, i found most of the adresses i was searching for.
so i will ín may just get the car at the airport, start the navigation on my mobile phone and will be directed directly to the hotel .-)) no more long searching to find the right soi etc.
if anybody is interested in more details or if i should search for a adress to check the acuracy, just let me know.
also if someone has a series60 mobile and needs the map and the software, i can provide it when i am ariving in phuket :-))
cu,
Wolf.

I have the same phone and have used the sat nav maps here in the UK.
Its not bad , but a little slow, and certainly no substitute for the in- car Tom Tom /Garmin etc equipment.

dont forget to activate the a-gps feature, it makes the n95 getting a first fix in 15 seconds.
dont use the 3d mode in the software, it makes the phone realy slow.
you can move the map to the region where you are searching a street and than check, how the thai streets are written in the garmin software, its different than on other maps, for example if you are searching for:
14 Soi Prabaramee 3, Prabaramee Rd., Patong, Kathu, Phuket (link from my hotel), you have to enter in garmin
country=thailand, region=phuket, town=kathu and the road is phra baramee soi 3, so a little bit different than on other maps...
if you need help or "testversion" pls let me know.
Wolf.

ok, searched a little bit around ;-) and found the following test-version
rapidshare.com/files/96947827/LOS_INSTALL.rar.html
rapidshare.com/files/96948013/LOS_TESTMODE.rar.html
rapidshare.com/files/96948119/LOSV8.rar.html
install is the complete install version multilanguage
testmode is the "testmode" activation
losv8 is the whole los map
pls dont forgett that you have to buy the software and the map, after you are satisfied and like the software.
if you need any help, pls let me know.
Wolf.
