Stylish hotel - no joiner fee, Patong
Dear All,
I am going to Phuket in late august, and are considering where to stay.
I will need a hotel where there is no joiner fee and no problems with bringing a girl back to my room.
I also want a hotel with some stile and a friendly staff.
I am looking at the Club Andaman and the Andaman beach hotel also Phuket Palace hotel are in my mind.
Another important issue is the distance to the Bangla road.
Could anybody please tell me a little about this and maybe also something about where to find a nice freelancer girl?
I will be very glad to hear from you.
Best regards,
Kloymaie

I visited Hilltop few days and it is also a very nice hotel with pool and no joiner fee and the staff were nice and friendly. Very good value for the money and excellent view of Patong.
If I come here as a tourist I should definetely consider Hilltop.
Club Andaman is not guest friendly. Another hotel with pool and no
joiner fee is Mermaid Resort, 5 minutes to the beach.
For budget hotel but still nice and clean is Baan Ton Sai, close to the intersection of the road that heads to Karon beach. Has pool and garden surroundings. 1100 baht in peak season.

Hello Nicke,
I really appreciate your answer. I will have these hotels in my mind, when I make the finally decision
May I ask you about the Phuket Palace hotel?
What I like most is, that the hotel is not too small and very guest friendly - short walking distance to both beach and Bangla road.
The price must go up to about 2500 bath for one night maybe a bit more...
I have been looking on hotels in Phuket for a long time now - it is very hard to make any decisions
Jim.

Club Andaman is only guest friendly if you have a VIP bungalow, these are about 800 baht extra a night, but cheaper than 1000 baht joiner fee. Mind you can get a guest friendly hotel for less than that! CA has nice gardens and pools, about a fifteen minute walk to Bangla or 20 baht on motorcycle taxi.
Andaman Beach is run by same management and has same guest policy as Club Andaman. Its a little bit further than Club Andaman, but not much.

Blue Ocean Resort is also nice. Takes about 5 min to the beach and 10 min to the bangla road. It cost about 850 bath in october, and if you send a mail before you come there, ask about bringing a girl, they will say itis free. Just print out the answere, and take it with you, if they charge you for money when you come back to the hotel with a girl
74 days before i'm back in patong

Hi All,
So wonderful with all these lovely answers.
I have now got a lot of emails return from many hotels in Patong.
Patong Beach says that if I book a double room there is no joiner fee for the first guest to bring, but the will charges 3000 for guest number 3 etc…
I like the location of this hotel.
Phuket Palace has no joiner fee, but is the walking distance not to long to Bangla rd.?
Patongvilla tells me no joiner fee, what about this hotel?
Last I have been spoken to the Patong Merlin and Cabana which I have been staying on before – but so far they have not yet told me about any joiner fee policy – does any body of you know something about the Merlin in this matter?

I live at The Hilltop Hotel and love it.
I feel like I'm on top of Patong away from the noise and such but on motorbike it's two minutes and your on Bangla. It has a nice pool and a good feel about the hotel. Nicke and I had lunch there a couple of days ago. We were supposed to go running and get a little exercise but it started pouring so we just ate lunch instead.
The website is www.hilltophotel.com
Cheers!

Great Hotel
I know Irish Johnny hates that I recommend this hotel (maybe he gets a commission of C&N) but it is fantastic and guest friendly.
Stoney Monday Oasis Hotel
www.stoneymondayhotels.com
The manager (Sao) told me the other day THEY WILL GIVE FORUM MEMBERS A 10% DISCOUNT.
I would not stay anywhere else.

Question for Urtheman
hello mate.
I just had a look at the Hilltop Hotel website. It looks fantastic. I'm a bit of a foodie and the restaurant menu alone makes me want to stay there! And the high season rate they quote of $50 (which I reckon would be about 1200 baht) seems fine.
Just two questions:
Are they girl friendly? (I preseume they are, otherwise you wouldn't be staying there! )
Do you know if they'll apply an extra surcharge for the peak weeks over Christmas and New Year? If there's no extra charge, I'll be making a booking with them, like, now!
Cheers.

The Hilltop is very girl friendly
One night I got home from work and was saying to myself "I'll just stay in tonight" well I get to the hotel and there is a party going on. This girl who owns a salon was turning 30, well there were so many girls I couldn't believe it. I knew about three of them from the discos as they go there after work. Then it got crazy as many girls were throwing each other in the pool clothes on and all.
Nice surprise to a long day!

Hiltop sound just great and I will sure go visit them.
But is the distance to the Bangla area not to far for walking?
Do U know what kind of girls are to be finding at the rooftop bar?

Hilltop is great place but
The hotel is at the very top of patong offering beautiful views. It's not easy walking distance to Bangla when I used to vacation here I would rent a motorcycle for about 100 baht a day. I could get around the island to see what I wanted and saved on Tuk Tuks. The bar area at the hotel happens sometimes but you can always go down the hill and bring something back.
Cheers!

Urtheman, thanks for the info. By the way, where is your restaurant? I'll check it out when I'm next there in Jan.

Geez, just like real estate, location, location, location
all the choices are drowning me. i was thinking about the stoney monday hotel, but then i'd like to be closer to the action and the 15 min walk might be too much for the girls. sure theres the tuk tuks, motorbike rental (too risky), but being able to just walk over sure sounds nice + i won't get too sweaty.
so, what about the Expat Hotel? Anyone stay there recently?
I'm arriving around the 3rd of sept.
ahyes!

Stop stressing September is low season just book somewhere for a couple of days and then walk around and decide where you want to stay.
Waste of time though if you want to stay close C&N or Orchid Residence otherwise the Hilltop looks good bit more pricey but all class.
