Poppa Palace
Hi All,
I have done a lot of reading on this board since I joined last year, and I have enjoyed many of the great trip reports, some more funny than the others (Suttoh – All Newbies Should read your TR)
I also love the great rapport everyone seems to have on this board, it always brings smile to my face.
I have managed to gather a lot information from this board over the past few months as I prepare myself for my holiday to LOS, I now know all the costs, etc, things to do and what NOT to do. And I am sure I will be like every newbie, and F**K it all up when I come over, and make all the mistakes I have prepared myself for, and fool for all the TG’s sweet words!
Anyway, enough of the butt kissing, I do have one quick question to ask (And yes I have used the search engine) But as things seem to be changing in LOS, I wanted to ask this know. Please can someone tell me if the Poppa Palace is still “GF” – Just wanted to check before I book it up!
Thanks Guys
TCB

When I stayed at Poppa palace 6 months ago. I had no problem bringing lady back as I had booked Double Room not single.
Check if this is the case still....
Great hotel though... I had a Deluxe Room (same as Caerphilly) and very happy with hotel/staff/food.
Enjoy!

Got an e-mail back from them a few days. Yes they are still GF, but as Sarsbuk said you need to book a double room and NOT single. So I am sorted now -
Thanks for your help guys! See you in May!

My parents stay there every time and they got a good discount this high season aswell due to being regular customers. They are happy with the place. I also heard Poppa have a deal with a swedish tour agency so half the rooms is rented out in high season to the travel agency this season.
They have lift/elevator so no walking betwen the floors. And one of the most important requirements for my parents is to have a balcony, as they love to relax outdoor at the balcony in afternoons and evenings. (I think the top floor have the biggest balcony)
I dont know about girl friendly thought.

Hi Caerphilly,
Here below is what they sent me for the rates:-
Room : Double/Twin Suprerior Room at 1,260 Baht/room/night.Rate is inclusive of buffet breakfast and all taxes Room :
Double/Twin Deluxe Room at 1,440… Baht/room/night.Rate is inclusive of buffet breakfast and all taxes.
Think these are ok prices. Also it has a Pool and lift (As Nicke said) and is just about the right distance from the nightlife as I want it to be. Not too fat to walk each night. Even if I am on crutches, I wont pay for a TUK TUK!

I think its a good value for the money, not many places offer a pool and a lift and a balcony for those rates and still walking distance to Bangla.

Think the biggest balconies were on 4th floor not the top floor (5th floor) I had a bigger balcony on 4th floor than on the 3rd and the 3rd looked about the same size as the 5th as they have slightly different room size
I thought the rooms facing south looking towards Jintana hotel had a better view off balcony than those on the northern side overlooking the pool too if you want detail assessment
rates appear to have jumped up a fair bit since low season 2007 when i paid 1000 per night single rate for double delux room with 1 breakfast and no joiner fee.......the girls never got up for breaky in any case!!!
