Lawan Residence

I am currently staying at the Lawan Residence in Patong. It offers all that I look for when I am traveling and I can recommend it to other BMs.

A spacious clean room
Big, comfortable bed
Quiet, efficient air conditioning
Good location (less than 3 mins walk to Junkceylon)
Mini bar
Friendly, helpful staff
Safety box in room
Wi-fi (I am writing this on my laptop in my room)
Guest friendly

Here you go sarsbuck...a few pics from my trip in March.

The balcony looks out over a side street so not much light gets into the room while the curtains are closed...not sure what sort of view you're looking for as the Lawan is off Rat-U-Thit road so the most you're likely to see is a steady stream of honda dreams and tuk-tuks.

I agree with banditx...a great option if you want to be close to the action.

The rooms are very clean and are serviced every day. The bed is comfortable and the shower is good and reliable. Joy is a very friendly host and the front door is locked at night so you can come and go as and when you please and with whom you please !

I will probably stay in a cheaper hotel in Soi Banzaan or Nanai if I travel again in high season but you won't do much better than the Lawan in low season.

Thanks Dubsox.... I know there are pics of the rooms on the website.. But it is always nice to see and hear someones personal thoughts on a hotel.

You mentioned the hotel was locked at night. Did you mean unlocked??

Locked Door

[quote=sarsbuk;463422]Thanks Dubsox.... I know there are pics of the rooms on the website.. But it is always nice to see and hear someones personal thoughts on a hotel.

The reception desk closes after 9:00 pm however the hotel entrance has a separate door that locks. There is a safety box in the hallway with an extra door key so don't worry about not getting in (you call for the code). Also there is a security guard who watches over The Gym Fitness Club next door and Water World Asia across the street. In addition there are three phone numbers posted (the owner, manager & receptionist) in case anyone needs personal attention.
