Sounds expensive to me still. About £450 is what I would pay before the summer holiday hike.

It would have to be very cheap, and I mean very, for me just to even consider flying with them ever again.

It's a good price for BA who normally weigh in around £650+ (same as Qantas usually). For a direct flight from LHR with good in flight entertainment it's pretty good I would say. I have already paid more (approx £590) for a ThaiAir flight for early May..............

Thanks Mike.

Why was it a fiasco?

The fiasco has been big news in the UK. The new Heathrow Terminal 5 was opened by HM Queen recently with all the usual fanfare and bullsh*t. Brand new spacious building, latest kit, latest technology blah, blah, blah. The terminal is for BA use only. However BA had awful baggage handling problems from hour 1 of day 1. Thousands of people had to fly without their baggage because they couldn't get the bags on the planes. Unbelievable ! The problems are still not solved and has cost BA an estimated £16 million and more to come. An unmitigated PR disaster........

It was for short haul flights as all long haul are still leaving from T4 at present along with Qantas.

WITH the crazy hike in flight taxes in the uk you will struggle to get a flight from anywhere in the uk to los for under £550 at anytime of the year !

i am flying china air glasgow-amsterdam-bangkok its costing me £629 2 years ago could have gotten this flight for £430 (flying out october 22nd)

add that to the current sh ite exchange rate for the uk pound and it means only one los visit for me in 2008 .
