Jet Airways, new LHR/Bangkok route.

Have noticed this airline coming up with reasonable fares from London to Bangkok with stopover in Mumbai, India.

Journey time 15:20mins including stopover.

Ticket conditions allows longer stopover in Mumbai if desired and return up to 12 months from departure.

Price on Airline Network £534 in August.

Have not flown with them so would be interested to hear of anyone elses experiences with this airline.

Also it would be worth knowing if any transit visas etc were needed. I would imagine a change of planes would be required.

Basically, what does the stop involve, how long etc ?

Good point as India requires a pre-paid valid visa for visitors. Don't know if it's any different for a 'transit' visa but the Indian's are famous for their beaurocracy (learnt from the British).

The 'in airport' stopover is about 3 hours but the overall journey time is 15:20 including the in airport stopover.

Looks like travellers are happy with onboard service but not so happy with ground staff, check in, transfers etc.

Looked up the Indian High Commision site. That gives contradictory information:
1. Stopover allowed for up to 72 hours within 15 days of transit visa being issued.
2. Stopover allowed for up to 15 days within 3 months of transit visa being issued.
Evidence of onward travel to destination outside India required.

Transit visa £8.
Tourist visa £30.
