Hi Ally
Dont do it.
Air France are possibly the worst airline ever for losing your luggage.
If you have a transfer with them you can almost guarantee that your bags will be left behind. I travelled with them to Abu Dhabi, from Heathrow via Paris and my luggage wasn't transferred and when it did arrive 2 days after I landed, the new suitcase was ripped open and clothes ruined.

I have a mate who this year went to Vietnam,Cambodia,Laos and Thailand and he didn't see his luggage for 6days. They may have a good price but if you can find one even a little dearer, take it over a flight with Air France!

I've always been happy with the price and quality of China Airlines.

also imo i would not fly B.A (sorry steve)again unless i had to or it was just so cheap that it would be crazy not to.
stewards with bad attitude, very poor in flight entertainment, not very fourth coming ith in flight drinks and the food was crap to say the least.
hope my limited B.A experience might be of some use in your quest for flights

Im not really worried about the tickets from bkk to phuket, Ill get them cheap enough through airasia but im running out of planes to fly on, Air france is by far the cheapest and if it wasnt for the risk of losing luggage id use them, Then the next cheapest is phuket air? Has any BMs any comments on this airline? And BA was my last option because all the other prices i got were rip-off, So i dont know what to do now, Anybody any tips on were to book cheap flights from dublin?

The last time i went it was through a travel agents, And i flew on china airlines but there website has no flights up for the dates im going, And i just have a pain in me **** looking

Im with ETV on the BA flights. Not unless I have to.
I've been advised to leave the flight booking for Easter time until at least January as seats will still be available.and most likely cheaper.
But I'm not so sure. Its all very well leaving it late but if you book accommodation for certain dates and then can't get your flight then you are fcuked!
In your case, have you thought of just getting to Heathrow from Dublin and using one of the UK websites to book your flightsfrom thereon.Click on Google and type in Online Air Tickets in the search and you should have plenty of selection.
The best I have found for my dates is £501 via Bangkok.
Let me know how you get on cos we are in the same boat

What Airline is that with dawsey? I got one with phuket air for 700euro's(475sterling) dublin/london/bangkokreturn. Just waiting to hear off anyone who's flown with them for info.

I dont want to wait until 3months before hand, It sounds a bit risky to me, Sure i looked up loads of flights from october just to see and the prices were the same, So i dont think ill take a chance on that.

Just checked and although its cheapish it sounds a bit gruelling.
LHR to Vienna on Austrian Airways
Thai Air to BKK and on to Phuket £501 inc taxes

A better one is Eva Air via Bangkok for £495+£31 tax but I'm not sure without checking if its from Heathrow or Gatwick

Ive found a few like that, Like Lufthansa is dub/lon/frankfurt/bkk return 632euros(425sterling) or SAS dub/copenhagen/bangkok return for 718euro's(482sterling) but the catch is there's a possible stopover in copenhagen.

I dont know weather Eva air runs flights out of both, but the flight im booked on to is flying out of Heathrow. So i would think all there flights would be the same from London. Hope this helps.

I travelled with Air France during my last trip a few months ago (BRU-CDG-BKK). The trip was good and on time, service was friendly and food excellent. Certainly one of the best carriers I ever used and as their prices are more intersting that the ones quoted by Thai Airways, I think that I'll use their services again in the future.
The only time my luggage were lost was in 2000 with Thai. My bags arrived 12 hours after me.
Regards,
Bobby

Airline rating

My favourite airlines for long haul flights

1. Singapore Airlines (+++ service, +++ inflight entertainment, +++ food)
2. Malaysia (++ service, +++ inflight entertainment, ++ food, - uniforms)
3. Air France (++ service, +++ food, - inflight entertainment)
4. Malev (+ service, + food)
5. Thai (+ service, - food, - inflight entertainments, --- business class)

And now, the worst ones:

1. Swiss (-- service, - food, ++ entertainment, --- delays)
2. Alitalia (-- service, - food, --- delays)
3. British Airways (--- service, --- food)
4. Lufthansa (-- service, -- food, --- delays)
5. Turkish Ailines (--- delays)
