Sukhumvit & Patong Accomo for Girl (800 - 1200 THB)
A friends traveling alone for a couple of days first week of June.
I was thinking of Wendy's Guest house in Sukhumvit so she can get her shopping done, its cheap clean and safe too. Breakfast is a bonus.
What about Patong ?

For Patong, a Superior Room at Summer Breeze looks good at under 1200 baht.
Click in the banner to the right for more info.

if you are worried about exposure to mongers then maybe put her in a non GF place. Plenty of those available around the place in the price range you are looking at

SB may be guest friendly, but its also discreet. I'd have no problem booking a single female a room there anyway.

SB looks like a smashing option for the price of 1k odd THB. I would have thought they would be expensive. Lucky this is off season.

Not for a single girl Johnny?? too many mongers running around corridors and patying.
Summer Breeze I'd recommend, good location, great staff, look after her well, good food, BB pool, never any noise or problems from 'single' male guests to other guests, Bill or Somsak wouldn't allow it.

could try Poppa Palace where in June last year it was a mix of couples, families and single guys and for a few nights a couple of small groups of canadian girls (who didn't like Patong at all ) a little multi national and cultural mix of europeans, middle eastern nationals and north americans
Poppa Palace whilst guest friendly had a nice friendly homely feel for me.....not stayed at the other places mentioned

I guess the main criteria for her would also be proximity to the beach... Poppa's place seems like walking distance ?

I have booked through Asiarooms and have had no problems. I changed my booking to be 2 days less and they refunded the money the next day no problem.
Asiarooms are part of TUI Travel a UK company which is Thomson (TUI) and First Choice Travel, both very large International travel companies. This is off Wikipedia TUI Travel PLC - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
They allow you to book hotels in a few different currencies which I prefer as I was able to book in US Dollars. I believe due to the size of the company they can perhaps get better prices other hotel agencies may not be able to get....
Walking to the beach there is a short cut that you can take during the day or walk up/down Sawatdirak Road.... Not far at all.
Poppa Palace's website is [url=http://www.poppapalace.com/] But for they won't offer same price... Last year I stayed at Poppa and booked through travel agency and had no issues when checking in. Just saved having to worry paying for hotel at the end as all paid for up front.

Actually Sumer Breeze was used by many BM's before ever advertising on the board....Billpay the part owner + board member decided to place the ads as a way of thanking BM's for this and supporting the board
