I think it's a simple stupid question
Can we find the taxi at the midnight from patong?
If i don't live in patong maybe phuket town or some
where else how much should i pay?

You may find a taxi around the Mc Donald's but you can find a tuk tuk everywhere. The fare should be around 200 B. A general advice is to stop a tuk tuk and ask the price. Avoid the ones that are waiting in Bangla and especially at Ocean (they'll probably ask you 400 B for the same trip).

If I need a taxi car I have to pre-book first, and to Phuket town the rate would be 350 baht. Tuk Tuk may charge anything between 250-500 baht.

If you plan to play golf, visit phuket zoo or similar activities, you can always book taxi in advance and get a good car instead of paying for a tuk tuk. I use Supachai who have a fleet of minibuses and cars. Many travel agencies can also arrange cars.

ive found the tuk-tuks in patong to be very honest. ive used them to take me on day trips and they've always been pleasure. also if you've taken a tuk-tuk in bangkok, you will appreciate how nice and clean the ones in patong are!

The Tuk Tuks are becoming a little too expensive lately.....
When i first went to phuket i was amazed at how cheap the tuk tuk fares were!!!

However on my last vist i could not believe how things had chnaged in such a short time, this one tuk tuk tried to charge me 300 baht from banana disco to the Horizon Hotel (I was feeling a little lazy and could not be bothered walking), anyways i said no thanks

and decided to walk instead... it was a lot cheaper, and spent that extra 300 baht on a couple of ice cold heinekins.

Whenever we take tuk tuk nowadays I never ask the price from Nanai road to Bangla. Always give them 100 bath an turn my back and wlak away. Always works. When you ask them before howmuch they say at least 200 bath for the same trip. When i take a BG or FL at night when i am drunk i always let her pay (with my money ofcourse

).

When i go alone from Nanai to Bangla i just take a motobike-taxi for 20-30 bath.

do you guys think that the tuk-tuks are more honest if you are with a thai girl because now that i think about it, i dont think ive ever taken a tuk-tuk without a girl. also, johnny, i am going by how bad the tuk-tuks are in BKK. although i did have a tuk-tuk in BKK take me to 3 or 4 different sightseeing places and a tailor and back to my hotel. i had him about 4 hours and gave him 400baht

Well Marc,

I think tuk tuk drivers will not agru with the ladies as quickly as with farang. So to avoid all agression on the late hours, and when I am drunk, i'll always let the ladies take care off that. They really are better in discussions with them tuk tuk drivers. Even, or maybe, especially when they know eachother.

my gf will argue with a tuk-tuk or any other person selling things if she thinks its too much. i think thats pretty good, say if im buying her flowers or a stuffed animal, she wont buy it if she thinks it too much, even though i usually am either too drunk or care if i pay too much

Same for me, Marc. It is one of the reasons why i like to stay with the same girls several days ... maybe they think that if you pay too much for tuk tuk or clothes or anything else, it is less money she can hope from you

(just joking)

But once you know the right price for everything, it is never a problem ... They try, sure, but they always finish to agree with your price (if it is right). If they want more (and i speak about taxis, tuk tuk, shop sellers), just smile, say you can find a better price 10 meters away and go ... 3 seconds later they say OK

Some prices I use to pay in Phuket :

Tuk-tuk
- inside patong : 100 baths (20-40 baths for a motorbike taxi)
- Kamala-Patong : 200 baths
- Kamala - Laem Singh Beach : 100 baths (you can try 250 from Patong)
Usually in Phuket, I think there are fixed prices but they try sometimes to get more ... just speak a little bit and it is OK

Clothes :
- T-shsirt : 120 baths
-Polo : 130 (small size for my ex girlfriend) and 150 baths for me
-short : 150 - 200 baths
- pants (jeans) : never buy but a friend uses to pay 250-300 baths

Girls
- ST : 500 baths
- LT : 1000 baths
- 1 week or more : 5000 baths/week

Bars and discos : fixed prices
Barfine : 200 - 250 baths (I think more in go-go's - 500 baths - but i have never gone)

Yeah I always let the ladies argue the fare. Usually they ask me 300 -400 in Bangkok, when I'm witha lady-100-200 baht.

Youre absolut right. Especially since the most taxis are "meter-taxis".

The time before they charged me everytime to much, but now i really like to take the taxi because it is soooo cheap. (and much safer than the tuk-tuks)

In patong i prefer to ride my motobike or just walk. (tuk-tuk to expensive and motobike-taxi drives to crazy sometimes....)
