Patong Villa-Thumbs Down

Hello People

I just returned from my fourth trip to Phuket and have been reading this board for 1 year now...so I have to throw my 2 cents in about this hotel.

After reading some positive posts in here, i did a walk in at the Patong Villa on beach road and got 800 B per night (low season) so i booked 7 nights. I thought the rooms were small and basic but well cleaned everyday. The pool was Ok but really small and only enough room for about 4 lounge chairs...and they were always full.

But the worst part was the staff. Although the hotel does not charge a joiner fee, the girls at the front desk are quite snotty towards your guests you bring back...One one occasion, I brought a girl back and when the customery ID check with the front desk was taking place, all the girls were talking Thai....after their short conversation my FL for the night calmly turns towards me and says 'no buttafry yew hav girl ear last nite' and walks out into the street. You see the girls at reception stitched me up...They also tried to rip me off an additionl 690B upon check out for the laundry and bar bill.

The location is good but the problem is that in order to get to your room you have to walk up a long gauntlet of street vendors trying to sell you stuff everyday and commenting on the girl your with. After 3 days I think the whole neighbourhood were wispering butterfly.

For me ... I'm going back to the C&N next time...its a better run hotel and the staff are much more professional. Also, I would consider after a couple of days a serviced apartment that rents by the week...you see signs everywhere.

I am curious if others have had bad experiences with PT?
