No offense guys...but no need to make comments like these...I am just looking at the practical side of things. See no point in booking a room for 2...might as well use it to benefit someone here..

None taken Int. Just a tongue in cheek comment from Mlay that any of us would make. Its that type of forum, but very useful to a 1st time visitor to LOS.
I' m sure you will have no problem finding a nice Thai girl to share your room for 1000b a night.Thing is you pay her not she pay you
Seriously,I'd doubt you will find anyone to share a room with,as most people come for the mongering and dont need an audience

cheap charlie
Come on mate if you can not pay around 800-1000 bht anight, you shouldnt be going, what are you going to do when a girl say`s 1000 bht L/T?
Budget yourself for this,1000 bht for a room ie C+N Hotel, bar girl,1000-1500 bht if she is a real looker,200 bht bar fine, drinks about 100 bht a glass,if you are into spirits and around 500-1000 bht for food for you and your Teerac.
This should help you with your budget.

int if you look around the are plenty of cheap guest houses etc ,
belive me the last thing you will want when your there is a room mate,
my first visits were booked through a travel agent and we had to share a room, well we was ment to,some how one of us was always in a different room/hotel.
if your on a budget the are plenty of was to spread the cash,i.e dont eat at the tourist places, have a leep early evening so that you go out about 22.00etc,im sure the will be plenty more suggestions, but to be honest its not a place to worry about the budget ,if your like me when its gone its gone ,thank heavens for the ATM`S
hope you enjoy your visit

Thanks for all the "advice"...I am ok with the budget, but i wont be needing the "company" recommended. This is kind of like an adventure trip i am making so i will be looking for people with similar interest..I will be travelling on my own with my own transport...
Ok..guess that will be enough here...Have a good time everyone.

If you are looking to hook up with some people for sight seeing rather than going for the thai ladies then try visiting Khoa San road in Bnagkok.
It's crammed full of backpackers but you may find many are taking drugs though so be careful.
And don't be tempted to do drugs yourself ..big no no in thailand

Indeed a good choise to meet some fellow travellers in Thailand.
I would definately recommend the Woraburi Khao San Inn over there. No joiner fees and a good big breakfast in the morning. While ordering, just ask for 2 knives, 2 forks and an extra straw for the watermelon juice.
Well now that's sorted out, you only need to find yourself a travel companion, who doesn't mind hitchhiking to Phuket. Almost there

Most places charge the same rate for a double occupied room - If you can find someone to share a room with you then good luck.
I know what its like when money is tight and you still want to have a good time.
Good luck mate
