Nice write-up Dan Boy

I am currently staying at Summer Breeze, since Jun 04th (extended my room twice).

Great place to stay, excellent location; really close to all the action (Bangla) and the shopping complex (Jungceylon). However I've only been to Jungceylon once since I have been here... lol

Yeah finally made it to Summer Breeze.

It was good meeting you in Dec last year, great first night to start off my last trip. Got into Tong had a shower and left my guesthouse in the afternoon with the intention of going for a brief look around (bit of food and drink)... it ended up being an all night excursion in Lala! I really had trouble finding the guesthouse in the wee hours of the morning (didn't much impress the gogo girl I ended up with that night either... lol, LT ended up turning into ST).

I wish the owner would stop asking me for a tip every time I go.

Apart from that Tian is still the sexiest piece of womanhood on the soi.

Rooms aint so bad either.

Put me in 308 last time, DanBoy pinched my room, cheap b@stard.

Staff noise

I also found this to be a minor issue the first day or so when I stayed there but soon changed my way of thinking in that the staff were only going about their job, the noise was friendly conversation, and they always gave a friendly "hello" when I was leaving my room. I would much rather that than staff who have no personality and are afraid to communicate between themselves or guests. I did not think it was really a problem worth mentioning in my initial post. Most hotels have this as an issue, not really a problem. Ear plugs usually help.

Id reccomend the penthouse, I stayed in it for 2 weeks whilst it rained constantly some considerable time ago..
.
The floor is very low, about 9' below the ceiling. Perfect.

Summer Breeze Hotel - The Friendliest Hotel In Patong Beach

My question was is it worth paying the extra for, in pattaya alot of rooms are advertised as superior to the std but usually they are exactly the same but the furniture may be slightly newer and the tv a year newer. Therefore it not being worth paying the extra for just new furniture.

Seen as someone answered the question correctly it does seem the superior rooms differ in size and amenities to the standard.

The main difference is size... you could fit at least a dozen rocket scientists into the room... and still have room for the rocket... plus a very large window in the superior room... the standard rooms don't appear to have any windows...

Just one question as i am one click away from booking it, when bringing a girl, do they have to leave their ID card or paying for the girl ? i always hate it when they do that, i normally have a holiday time girl with me and think it no fun for the girls either.... (i respect if they do, cause no hotel wants bad reputation because some girls are messing it up and they want the refuse their stay in the future...)

SB will take the girls ID card for your own safety. If you have the same girl with you all the time, just get her to leave her card with them.

This is the norm mate, SB is very guest friendly compared to some other places out there. Trust me you will sleep easier if they have her card at reception.

SB is a great place to stay and an excellent location, really close to all the action!

The security guy on at night is a good guy... if you tell him the girl is good (ie. not a bar girl you have just met) he won't take their ID card... he will ask you... you can trust her? Just make sure you have a good relationship with him... ;-)

That is a pathetic policy if it is correct (which I doubt).
All guests should check in and either be noted as a visitor (surrender license) or be fully registered as a staying guest and show the license upon (their) check-in.
The fact that you can make a deal with a doorman is trouble waiting to happen.

I have taken a girl to a hotel as a registered guest a number of times and we both had to show proper ID.
I have even gone to a hotel where the girl had checked in long prior to my arrival and I was not allowed in without showing ID.
It is simply the right way to do things.

From what I know about Bill and his little operation I would doubt that he would allow the doorman to make such exceptions.

i had a brawl with Amari Blvd because they didnt seem to mind Ao coming and going in the morning when we were spending 600baht each for breakfast but the security guard got aggressive in demanding her ID when we were coming home one night even after we both calmly explained she was my wife and a registered guest

Yeah, they're kinda tough on the "guests" it would seem.

I've stayed there, and if you book the room for (2) guests, they issue a green colored key card. If not, you get a blue colored card. (or something along those lines)

The security guard catches the farangs (with ladies) at the elevator and asks to see the "key card". If it's not the right color, they have to register the lady at the front desk, and pay an additional fee.

As the lobby bar is open 24/7, I used to sit and watch these incidents develop, as the night dragged on...55555

The girls id is copied the first night you bring her back, very much like your passport when you check in. Then its stored i would think and used again when you bring the same girl back again. That is what i would think is happening at the Summer Breeze.

One hotel I stay at frequently will always hold on to the girls ID and will call the room before handing it back.
I like that policy.

guess that one is in Patts?!

anyway, I like it the way it is at SBH...
never had a problem there (even not the girls), it's registrated which girl is in which room, the ID card is left at the reception
if you're having the same girl for several days, it becomes a bit easier

I'm happy to stay again there in August, will add some extra days on the end of my trip

It's not a policy watsover. Somsak is one of the most experienced diligent night staff / security guys you could wish to meet. he will always as a matter of course take the girls ID card. I have even known him to give a discreet warning to a guest if he thinks something is a miss.

However, it is up to the individual. Having stayed at the Summer Breeze many times i have become quite good friends with several members of staff. I do not want them all knowing about every girl i bring back or how many. So on my request he will not ask my guest for their ID card or put her details in the book unless i ask him to. I see no problem with this, it is then my responsibility if anything were to go wrong.
I only asked him to take ID on my last trip when i took a freelancer back. I was comfortable in the knowledge when taking a girl from a bar, of knowing where she works and so on....

No problem whatsoever at SBH, I was with the same girl for two weeks and she even invited her sisters and friends over. Some even had their "boyfriends" with them. They just called from the reception and asked me if it's ok. No problem. I hate when some hotels in europe ban you from having friends in your room.
Thank you, Bill, for a great place to live while on holiday.

DB, take it from me.........Those girls at SB miss nothing.
What Somsak may hide.......the cleaners will pick up on...Also don't forget when your BG leaves, you never know who she'll bump into on the way out.

Or it is just documented in the book at the front desk.
