I think belco should specify the rate he wants to pay!
There are some great hotels in Phuket to cater for all price ranges

I recomand blue ocean resort, stayed there two times no, and I think it's good. I have a deal with the hotel, so I don't need to pay 300 bath for a extra person, but I have heard if you send a mail they say they don't take extra charge. (print it out and show them) It's not so cheep in high season

Thanks for the input guys.

I was highly recommended by my sisters boss to stay at the Merlin Beach Resort. Prices aint really a problem since my sister is a travel agent and can get some discounts That resort with 'tree' in its name.. is that more like an appartment? There will be 3+ people coming with me and maybe an appartment will be the way to go..

Do many places in Phuket accept Master Card? or is cash the way to go?

use your master/visa card in the ATM machine and pay cash. Don't think it's a problem to use cards in the hotels but you never know. So the ATM is the safest way to go...
