€530 is a decent price from a provincial airport. How long are you in Rome for?

Is that with tax, or without, if it's with thats very good, Emirates are excellent i have used them before, but never got a deal any where near that good, Singapore air is probably the best i have been on long haul to asia but so difficuilt to get a good deal with them but if anyone can find a decent price i thoroughly recommend them even if they are more expensive than the cheapies, it's worth the extra.

FCUK! While replying to this post I was browsing for prices and suddenly the lowest prices all jumped up by £100

Surely something wrong here I thought until I realised it just passed midnight on 30th June and now into July prices!

Moral: If you see a price you like... book it!!!

Cheapest price from UK for my next trip in Oct is £230 STN > KUL with AirAsia X

Only problem is the flight time would require an overnight stay in KUL outbound and (for me) STN inbound.

If AAX would sort out their flight times so that it was possible to catch a connection I'd gladly suffer 13 hours non-stop cattle class for that price.

For those coming from the USA, right now NWA has an offer to upgrade to Business class for 1 mile each way. Of course, you have to buy one of the top 3 economy class fares, but it's still a lot cheaper than what business class would normally cost.

Helsinki - Bangkok - Helsinki / Finnair direct flight
440€
28.9-09-18.10.09
Special offer, non refundable. Usually from 740€ up to 2000€ high season. And BTW Helsinki - Bangkok is the shortest route from Europe. Finnair has invested a lot on flights to Asia resent years. Peek season they fly 2 times every day to Bangkok and back with MD11. New Airbus A340-400? coming next year to replace the old MD11.

Singapore Airlines had a special deal:

LAX --> BKK for $679 I believe, unfortunately, I just checked and the deal expired June 28, 2009, would've been valid to travel til November I believe.

Was originally going to book this deal, but had to change my plans to accommodate HK and Singapore.

Cheapest fares I got quoted from LAX --> HK, HK --> Phuket is $925 (tax & fees included)

But I was told it's too early to know for sure what the prices will be as the trip won't be til September, so I have to check back in August

Prices have recently bumped up for summer travel season and the fact they have already been discounted for a while now. I predict that travel will be slow through summer and that prices will go down again in the late fall. At least that's what I'm hoping. 555

Currently mulling over LHR-BKK with Finnair for £1084 in Biz class, will probably pull the trigger on it tonight for travel next week.

I always go to Phuket, but I can get there for about the same price from either SIN or BKK. SIN has most recently been a cheaper flight for some reason, and you bypass the sometimes unruly mobs that storm Suvarnabhumi Airport. My 4 round trip flights this year from TPA to SIN so far are $42, $45, $43, and $1,180 USD. My November flight has not yet been booked yet, but it should be no more thatn $46 USD with 60K frequent flier miles spent. Is usually two stops, with the second always being NRT. Always fly NWA, soon to be Delta.

Think it was about $950 from Perth (West Oz) to Phuket - Bangkok - Perth, then two weeks later all the airlines slashed their prices...
